I never know the direction this manga is going to take. For a while I thought, towards the end of this rollercoaster we will have our main character doing out with the person they love, friendships will be recovered, and they will be set off to a new adventure.

The picture slowly turned into, maybe they will be the odd couple that makes it out against all odds. I even thought that maybe, Nazuka will be the first one to actually turn human, and she would be able to attend to the zoo during the day (I don't know if you guys remember it, but early on they went to the zoo and Kou realised it was a bad idea, given she doesn't really have an idea of what it looks like during the day, and the fact they might not be able to get that experience ever whilst she is a vampire).

Now I think the ending will be one of the saddest things I will read.
Either Nazuka dies, leaving Kou half broken with Akira coming back to help him out of the slum. Or Kou forgets everyone he was relatively close with (including Nazuna), leaving everything behind... or both of them end up dead and the person narrating this story has been Akira all along.

When she mentioned being able to be sincere, I started to worry that they were gonna drop that she's been in love with Kou this whole time on us.

I like this a lot better. It kinda implies that Kou is like a brother to her and that she's just gonna be lonely without him. I really like that even if it is sad.

I hope she gets to be happy too
I always thought she was. Kinda sad she wasn't in the end.

Yeah, Kou is basically surrounded by girls; some of them implied to be into him, and he isn't interested in anything remotely similar to a harem.
I like that.

Thinking that this way of them falling in love, but not in a traditional way is really good.

This is reminding me of the end of Oyasumi Punpun all of a sudden, just for a moment. Something about how the “lovers” are very alone, outside of society, and unable to, like, thrive? I’m gesturing vaguely with my hands because I’m unsure how to phrase this point.

Maybe it’s like “now they’re finally alone together, but it’s in the most awfully unsustainable way.”

This better not end like his previous manga dagashi kashi with it's status quo non ending.
nah, dagashi kashi was shit compared to this, got so stale around chapter 70 that I dropped it

I feel like this series has really been fishtailing wildly for a bit. Hopefully we'll see a bit of stability here.
