it might sound crazy but i think that this is the first time that i see this level of homophobia on a yuri manga and i've been reading a lot since last year, it gives a good background for Sakine she might not be so bad after all, normally most yuri manga there are tons of lesbian and everyone either accepts everything instantly or has a slight ignorance but end up being ok later

Dang bullied in elementary school of all places for being gay that's some early level homophobia. But I suppose it's not impossible kids start imposing social norms by like 9 years old.

Homophobia is rampant in elementary school in the US at least. Pretty sure "gay" is one of the most common insult?
