I can already see Jou telling her that it would be good news, and, consequently, making her cry... would be nice if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that will happen and then some other event will make him realize that's not what either of them want - with a bit more emphasis on himself, so he'll try to fulfill his love for her, not just stay as her servant and wish for her happiness (without him). But that would be the happy ending, there could be something more to their past.
