The character development in this chapter was great.

Akishita's really is a kind soul. Kaguhara realized this as well; she wonders why Akishita would get so close to the bullies even with that much sweat on her, since she knows that Akishita is really conscious of her sweating. The answer is clearly that Akishita would insert herself into the situation out of concern for Kaguhara, and rightfully so.

It's because of this that, at the end of the chapter, what Kaguhara remembers isn't Akishita's smell, but her face after being humiliated. Akishita is smiling through it for Kaguhara's sake, since she knows that Kaguhara is a rather sensitive person.
