Gotta make sure you know it's evil.Evil man, Evil god, Evil edge. Holy crap bro, the creator isn't creative enough to name things?

This is more a fault of the language barrier and how meaning gets lost in translation.Evil man, Evil god, Evil edge. Holy crap bro, the creator isn't creative enough to name things?
It's much more natural in Japanese where you can easily compound kanji to create new words.Evil man, Evil god, Evil edge. Holy crap bro, the creator isn't creative enough to name things?
Stop inserting logic into the [Evil] Plot for [Evil] Reasons of dragging out [Evil] fights to give MurderKitty Z the chance to smite [Evil]!It's much more natural in Japanese where you can easily compound kanji to create new words.
I assume it's using 悪 so something like 悪人 (akunin, evil person), 悪神 (akujin, evil god), 悪刃 (akuha, evil blade), etc.
It's no different from using 魔 (ma, demon/witch/evil spirit) to make 魔人 (majin, demon/evil spirit, lit. demonic person), 魔術 (majutsu, magic/sorcery/witchcraft, lit. demonic arts), 魔神 (majin, demon/evil spirit, lit. demonic god), 魔法 (mahou, magic/sorcery/witchcraft, lit. demonic method), 魔剣 (maken, magic sword/cursed sword, lit. demonic sword), etc.
(Yes I deliberately picked redundant ones because Japanese works can and have used the subtle differences to classify different but related things)
English doesn't have natural words for these Evil-compounds, so you get a literal translations of each component, which makes it sound clunky.
E: I just noticed Anothis' post which shows it actually used a completely different kanji (邪) that also means evil in a subtly different way but the point still stands.
I can't stand the edgyness broTo be fair its not really set names. Its a prefix that means its a variant of the base version. Skills used with evil energy vs normal mana just have evil attached.
No one cares about the japs, I'm just saying it's silly and dumb. It destroys any seriousness that was present in the arcIt's much more natural in Japanese where you can easily compound kanji to create new words.

Blame the translator, then?No one cares about the japs, I'm just saying it's silly and dumb. It destroys any seriousness that was present in the arc
It really doesn't make since though. In every other manga you read or roll player game you play an Evil character can not use Holy swords skills. I mean there are those occasions that an evil person can wield a Holy sword but they could never utilize the holy skill. It's an oxymoron: an evil character using a Holy sword that was created to purify evil. In Zelos status window it says that he has holy techniques, and he is the Evil God's Vanguard. This sounds like the Author was being lazy with this portion of the story. Also, he was forcibly converted Evil and he has magic resistance of 8 and holy magic skills. It should have taken more effort to convert him to an evil character than a basic spell. At least this guy has normal skills in addition to his evil abilities.
The holy sword skills prove that the author can create normal names, they just felt the need to add the word "evil" to every single evil-aligned skill lmao.
Wow how edgy of you.I can't stand the edgyness bro
