The arm positions do look a little strange, but I think that's just because Miyabi and Liz are in the middle of a dance move? Looks to me like they're holding hands (Liz's left to Miyabi's right, and Liz's right to Miyabi's left) while Liz is in the middle of a turn/spin.Am I the only one that really doesn't like the fact that AI was used to create the cover image... you can see it in the way the arms ate positioned and how fucked up some of the hands are...
I'll have to recheck the last few chapters, but it seems like the main problem brought up in this chapter is that the apprentice has to be the one to drive the train, but it uses too much mana for them. Was it not using enchanted stones? As in, no usage-requirements whatsoever.
I thought the issue was "I want this tech to be reproduceable by others, not only you", forcing him to not use stuff enchantmed at a level only he can.
Still can't figure out what the actual physics-issue is though, as all they really need to compensate is use more enchanted rocks. So those weak enchanters would simply just need to create more per train (which increases the production-time of each train, sure. But that was never a requirement). Once a train is built (or better yet, engine module. So they can be reused for new trains), it works permanently (that was why the engine needed to redirect acceleration to upwards and downwards when not in use, in the first place)
The enchanted rocks has no power-upkeep. You can see him use them in the bath - to produce infinite water - For exactly that reason. There is only an initial cost to make them, after which their free energy/matter makes them attractive for his constructions as it makes it a "fire&forget" type of deal.I'll have to recheck the last few chapters, but it seems like the main problem brought up in this chapter is that the apprentice has to be the one to drive the train, but it uses too much mana for them.
It's probably a case of "Sure we can use the enchanted rocks to run the train, but it uses too much mana to power them."
They mention a couple of times that the big block needs to be recharged basically every trip. No clue why the ones in the bath don't require it? Or maybe they do and it's just that they require so little magic that any layman idiot can get it done quickly, so they've never needed to bug Miyabi about it. At any rate, the train's power cell runs out of juice quickly and Miyabi's the only one with enough personal juice to charge it back up. I'm still at a loss as to why they don't just make a bunch of smaller power cells in series and get multiple people to handle charging if that's the problem. The enchanted rocks has no power-upkeep. Are you sure? Because like you said, either the bath ones do not, or they can be enchanted by anyone. Makes little sense why air stones would be different. They mention a couple of times that the big block needs to be recharged basically every trip. No clue why the ones in the bath don't require it? yeah 100% sure. when he's explaining the concept of the train to liz and chiffon, he explicitly says how long the enchantment lasts, and it's not even 24 hours. i'm as confused as anyone else why this is only coming up now, but when it gets said word for word in the text of canon, i've got little choice but to take it into accountAre you sure? But that said, like we already mentioned, training more weak enchanters to produce quantities instead of quality would solve that easily. Or even easier, switch to using water stones. With it being an incompressible, he could 'easily' design a hydraulic pistoning design that works to rotate the wheels (or high-pressure water jets like the air jets). Sure, it would constantly produce water, slowly making the cave damp and dank - or even outright flood it. But surely there are magical solution to such an issue. Or they could simply live with that issue for train designs using the prototypical water-design, and leave improving it (by moving to another power source) to future engineers.

Which hands look messed up to you? All the ones I zoomed in on seem okay to me.
The red arrow is the main part where i think it just goes too far, anyones arm will at that point pop out of their shoulder socket, it just aint right, and indeed the fact that next to her right shoulder the clothing/color is off.@Sung_Jin-Woo

I added some lines for how I'm interpreting things. Miyabi's right arm (blue) to Liz's left arm (green). Miyabi's left arm (yellow) to Liz's right arm (red). Liz's right arm is crossing behind her back, which is why we can't see it. It's awkward, but I think one could argue that it's just because they're in the middle of a dancing twirl/spin.
There is definitely some weirdness going on in the space between Miyabi's arms, next to Liz's right shoulder.

I think Chiffon's thumb is just getting obscured by her dance partner's hand/sleeve.

To me, it looks like he has the expected number of fingers, but his pinky is extending towards the viewer, at a different angle than all his other fingers, which makes it look a bit weird.
You might be right that AI was used, but I don't know that I'd consider any of these examples to positively confirm it. From what I've seen of current AI images, I'd expect there to be way more egregious mistakes if that were the case.
