There are still two things that really bother me: first, their breakup—how she did it and, more importantly, why. That absolutely needs to be addressed at some point. Second, the whole story about the father… she says the guy died, which is why his name isn’t even on the records, but the way it was told was so vague and strange that it just doesn’t add up.
This was supposed to be a more mature relationship, yet so far it’s been nothing but silence, avoidance, and “let’s not talk about it and hope things work out.” The MC, as he admitted, never truly forgot her. And then, out of nowhere, she shows up almost two decades later at his door with a daughter—and asks to stay? How is that supposed to make sense?
The only explanation that could bring some coherence is if the MC himself is actually the father—since in chapter 15 it was clear they were intimate enough for that. Maybe her “family problems” and sudden breakup were tied to a pregnancy. Perhaps she didn’t want to burden him while he was finishing college and pursuing his career as a painter. At least that would make narrative sense. But right now, it just feels like the author (and the FMC) are throwing random drama together and hoping it sticks.
And seriously—there’s no way nobody notices that the daughter clearly has her mother’s features (like hair), but the same face, eyebrows, and expressions as him. How is everyone ignoring that?
But hey, maybe that’s just me clinging to some wishful thinking about a pure and wholesome love story (even with the Asian nonsense of "let's not talk about problems), and even if the timeline doesn’t really add up—it’s pure copium. Still, I’m really hoping the girl is his daughter, or at least connected to her family. Otherwise, she’s truly something else… showing up after all these years, after breaking up out of nowhere, with someone else’s daughter, to the guy who could never forget her? That would make both the author and the FMC just plain cruel.
And honestly, why are people still putting spoiler tags for earlier chapters? If you’re already on chapter 17, it’s not a spoiler anymore…
