I was expecting that Henri would get the sad decision to send Merize to the human world, because what she clearly needs is a blood transfusion.
We can clearly see also how demons normally act too here, Naberius didn't need to oppose him like that, but he only did it to send the message and oppress not only Azazel but also doctor Balam, we don't get that many times too see a ... let's say functional evil demon here, kinda interesting how they will solve this, or just grandpa Sullivan will arrive and b!tchslap chief Naberius??

isn't it stupid to mistreat a familar like that? you literally ask for your hand to be eatten like the story with idiot with the gun and the dog.
every day the idiot would go to his dog and aim at it then shoting past the dog.. and he did it every single day until that fateful day.
he decided to not put any bullet in his gun and aimed for the dog.. the dog who did suffer though this went berserk and torn that idiot's gun hand apart. i wonder if we will see a case of this?

Darn, looks like I was right.....Merize can't stay in the demon world, it's slowly killing her.
She..will likely be sent back as i suspected, probably have her memories erased too.

And Knightwalker Senior finally shows his true colours...damn bastard wants to use the mom and baby as experiments??

And his research facility is apparently so bad the other doctor resigned out of disgust?

And he's apparently also abused Cerberus??!

Yeah, this guy needs to be taken down.

Go Henri! Overthrow him and save your wife and child!

One of the things I was struck with when this flashback arc first took place was how few of these high-level demons were people who we had previously met. Lots of introductions of people who were in positions of power that are now occupied by completely different people. And the events in this flashback are only 16-17 years ago.

The leads to the obvious question: Where did all these upper-level people go?

I think we will have the answer soon, and I think a lot of bodies are going to hit the floor before we are done.

(And I think it is a reasonable guess that Knightcrawler here is going to become food for his own dog. It just seems too apt.)

Okay, I think he'll somehow get Merize out of there and into the human world.

I don't know if it would be RIGHT this moment since, well, she kinda just gave birth and is really weak. That's on top of possibly erasing her memories of the demon world. That's gotta be too rough for her. I don't think any of this is possible without any of the three Greats help, which would most likely be Sullivan.
It goes all the way back to when he first met Iruma, and told him that he met a human that was returned to their world and memories erased.
He was actually talking about Ameri’s mother!

90% of demons in this series are pretty chill.

Then you have Baal's terrorist cell and Kalego's edgyass family who are a bunch of evil bums.
Don't forget that Iruma himself is also both the edgy future demon king and the most positive shonen protagonist in recent years.

Some seem to be making a parallel of this immigration politics but for me this very much seems more like military research/power expansion like @Thrembs said.

One might also say a bit of purity spiralling with the bloodline comment but then again someone of that outlook wouldn't approve of Ameri's existence at all as they'd consider the precedent even for experimentation too much of a risk.

The immigration outlook would want Merize sent home as soon as possible and keep interaction to a minimum as to not complicate the return.

The border control/immigration politics topic is fairly irrelevant given you have the fundamental practical concern in the plot (human blood), just like IRL (at greater numbers of people), as much as some would not like to admit.

And in the opposite case, bigotry from the moralist child, their inability to consider their parents wisdom modestly branding them as bigots ironically.
Which is how bigotry is born from nothing rather than bred/spread.
I'm making this comparison because the translators themselves literally did it. Don't pretend I literally came up with it myself.

Wdym quick jump most of the manga had the underlying plotpoint that iruma can’t reveal he’s human because of border patrol. Even at the start of the arc border patrol was activily involved with these characters
I'm literally only talking about this arc and the abrupt tone shift between chapters, calm down.
Uhhhh did you really think they were gonna help without any strings attached?
I would NOT put it past them to breed humans just for the blood.
I can't notice the abrupt change in tone without this?

What if Kalego's uncle had confronted his brother, Knightwalker and killed him, making a possible parallel that Kalego would have to do the same thing with Narnia whether we are talking about the near future or the distant future.

My hypothesis being that Knightwalker in his role as a mad scientist like Dr. Frankenstein, instead of taming his cerberus, he kind of experimented on him, plus from what I remember the explanations of the magic of the Naberius clan's bloodline are very similar to the explanations regarding how the stands were created/what a stand is in the jojo series.

The chapter being one of the 3 parts for The 13 Hours of Kalego sensei, or something like that was the name of these 3 parts of the chapter, where the magic of the Naberius clan bloodline is explained to us.

Maybe Henri killing Knightwalker in super saiyan mode and Henri being helped by some kind of "resistance" where the leader of that resistance being Marbaras Marta from eliminating Knightwalker will make Narnia lose his mind so that he becomes a fascist.

Also like father like son, on the one hand of Balam Shichiro and his father because they both care about living life regardless of form, and on the other hand like father like son in the case of Knightwalker and Narnia, because Knightwalker let's say indoctrinated Narnia, because he is the eldest son with his ideals.

Or maybe someone else would have killed Knightwalker behind his back, someone we don't suspect he would have killed and whom we viewers/readers know very little about. I would also say that Knightwalker's guard dog would look a bit like Garmr from Norse mythology.

I'm just....crying for Henri. 😭😭 Just...crying.

Knightwalker, you jerk! What is your deal? Quit treating a mother and child like their just experiments! It's a blessing that Kalego turned out to be a decent guy, while Narnia and Knightwalker are really demons.

Knightwalker's got the most terrifying familiar we've seen.
I suspect Kalego might be a good person BC of...how bad his father and brother are. Like when you look at someone being a bully and decide to do exactly the opposite of what they do.

I'm so heartbroken for Henri though. Minutes after hearing his wife may die (and he feels it's his fault) only to hear his evil boss wants to use his wife and child as guinea pigs. Bc he doesn't consider them to be on the same level of existence as demons.

At least...we had further confirmation Balam's dad and the others who helped during the operation are good people as a silver lining.🥲

You guys have forgot (since it's been a while since it was revealed) the Narberius family don't have familiars in the usual sense. The dogs are physical manifestations of their bloodline magic, in short they're Stands.

Knightwalker didn't beat his familiar into submission, that appearance is showing that Knightwalker himself is a murderous psychotic beast barely keeping himself restrained with civility and reason.

That's why Henri's direct boss wants his help to kick Knightwalker out of his position of Head of Border Patrol, he's too dangerous to have that much authority.

So I've been re-watching the anime and after hearing about the theory that Merize wrote First Love Memories, I started paying super close attention to the reading scenes. And I saw that there's a scene where the two leads in the manga have to escape from someone, with the male cross-dressing in the process.

All this to say that we should keep an eye out for Henri wearing a dress in the coming chapters.

This plot makes absolutely zero sense considering what happened to Ameri later. All of a sudden we learn that a huge number of important demons were involved in her birth, she's some kind of human-demon hybrid wanted by the border patrol from the very start of her life and years later she's just casually attending school being the famous student council president and attending high society parties. Come on.
