I hate when characters are just vague with details, he had no reason to not out their assault to the prez but just doesn't because....? I guess they'll just deny it?
It's kind of the shi*tty situation where nothing was recorded and the number of "witnesses" (the squad goons) matter in a court of opinions. Plus keep in mind, he is "badge-less" and not a "gold-badge" student with privileges. He may tell on them, but given the situation, there isn't much that could be done as the victim had no visible wounds and it'll be a pair of badge-less students' words against a group of badge students' words. The president with her authority likely recognizes as much and only can only
reprimand them for skipping their practice (as clubs are funded by the school).

An analogy would be like a SA victim or an (innocent) suspect is charged by Law Enforcement and goes into court. The guy with the badge with their "sworn affidavit" carries more weight than the suspect in the absence of evidence. A sensible judge may chide the officers for their lack of due diligence and unprofessional acts and throw out the case, but the damage is still done.
