I would agree if I didn't have more knowledge on just the general way people act and how they truly behave in a crisis, I used to think everyone moved logically in real life situation until I look up real wars from the past and even current day ones people are always doing stupid things even in situations you would think they otherwise wouldn't

I would agree if I didn't have more knowledge on just the general way people act and how they truly behave in a crisis, I used to think everyone moved logically in real life situation until I look up real wars from the past and even current day ones people are always doing stupid things even in situations you would think they otherwise wouldn't

It's not so much how people act in a crisis that I find forced. It's the fact that in a fantasy world where magical beasts, bandits, and especially rogue elites can attack your settlement, means there should at least someone on active duty that can handle it.

The presence of guards at the gate shows they know it's a possibility, so the exclusion of some higher authority close by just feels utterly negligent to me.
