Mother is out of line but she is not wrong. They are literally together because grandfather outright blackmailed MC into it (which was something people hated at the beginning) And MC himself, be it due to trauma or straight up autism, is not really that of a romantically inclined person. So believing he might be genuinely in love with Akane is not really a definitive conclusion for the characters themselves to arrive. Because more often than not, motherfucker acts like a fucking robot. He has JUST started to figure out what romantic feelings even mean/are. He is that far away from the finish line. So for once, i can't fault Akane (who is THE worse female lead in any shounen romcom to date) for trying to reset the relationship status to zero in order to remove the "shackles" on it.

All of you said Is true, and her being the worse female romcom leaf as she Is, believes that suddenly asking for a divorce will do wonders for an already paper thin relationship to grow

I think that akane is always like this...because of her past...you all are forgetting....that she sacrificed herself too much since the start of her childhood...that is why she is so selfless at the least..people just hate her too much I think...she has made a lot of mistakes....but she does not deserve such hate at the least

Plus...I feel like these two main characters are too same on the inside...if inspected carefully. And also it is ironic that whenever something like this happens where akane is being manipulated...she does one thing or other and it goes in her favour...also this would be helpful to make him realize his own feelings of her. (Though yes,the author could have avoided the drama, but I understand the intend)

I mean akane was always meant to be his life partner from the start.....so how it is a harem then...yes other characters might be interested in him...(Maho is not a contender..she is too much a teaser...a blatant liar)..but that is done so that to create romantic tension..so that indirectly they get closer...it has harem elements....to make main couple progress

One of things I hate about this manga is how the story is written in a way that other character are too annoying, when akane's own sister came she was annoying, shisei mother is also annoying and Most Hojo members are like they're so ducking annoying and recently akane is annoying too she is too obsessive
