as usual the most expected thing possible happens
Akane: Saito... if our grandparents hadn't forced us to marry... would you still choose to marry me?
Saito: I don't think so, why do you ask?
Akane: I—I see...
Definitely still on Akane too for pitching the question that way when she's known him for long enough to know better, but props to her for getting back on the horse with another angle.Nah, I think this one's also on Saito for being too dense:
All of you said Is true, and her being the worse female romcom leaf as she Is, believes that suddenly asking for a divorce will do wonders for an already paper thin relationship to growI like that romcom addicts just wants the leads to get together no matter how retarded for them to do so would be.
Mother is out of line but she is not wrong. They are literally together because grandfather outright blackmailed MC into it (which was something people hated at the beginning) And MC himself, be it due to trauma or straight up autism, is not really that of a romantically inclined person. So believing he might be genuinely in love with Akane is not really a definitive conclusion for the characters themselves to arrive. Because more often than not, motherfucker acts like a fucking robot. He has JUST started to figure out what romantic feelings even mean/are. He is that far away from the finish line. So for once, i can't fault Akane (who is THE worse female lead in any shounen romcom to date) for trying to reset the relationship status to zero in order to remove the "shackles" on it.
I mean akane was always meant to be his life partner from the start.....so how it is a harem then...yes other characters might be interested in him...(Maho is not a contender..she is too much a teaser...a blatant liar)..but that is done so that to create romantic tension..so that indirectly they get closer...it has harem elements....to make main couple progressProgress in my harem romcom? With a tsun as the lead? Not a chance.
