I gotta finally drop this. It’s way to slow for no payoff, it’s like we forward than backward than forward again. Everybody is saying a Turing ending but we haven’t seen Hikari make a face like that since the dance with Yu and she was pissed but I could also see how that can play into a yuri ending (toxic) but that’s way out of character and she didn’t do that with yu who she liked. But aya asked that right question because Hikari has weirdly obsessed with her since the beginning and it’s annoying. She put her first and let aya do whatever she wants and still forgives her and I don’t think she’ll do that with anybody so I haven’t seen her be “innocent” because she picked and choose who to give grace to.
Yuri ending*
This is such a nothingburger chapter. Idky they're dragging it out instead of just getting it over with in terms of exploring the yuri undertones the story set up with Hikari and Ayami. I feel like the chapter is pretty clear on that being the intention, but it edges that development instead of actually diving into it. Regardless, I still feel like, to some degree, that'd be straight up just bad writing

The story has genuinely been coddling Ayami and throwing whatever fault she has for this onto Yuu since the school festival stuff ended, despite her very much being the cause of that incident. It's hard for me to subscribe to the narrative that it's Yuu's passivity/indecision causing their problems when this all started because Yuu made his decision, but Ayami didn't like said decision, so she crashed out, hurting all 3 of them almost deliberately in the process (remember, she kissed Yuu because she saw Hikari was there)

There has to be an actual acknowledgement that loving either of them has only ever brought him grief if we're doing this that actually gets explored and not just waived off at the end or handled in an epilogue chapter for this to work out without leaving a sour taste in my mouth
theyre going make him the scapegoat like aya didn’t fuck h both of them over and Hikari playing favorites. I would be indecisive as well if I’m Yuu because he didn’t get any closure

It's cuz their friendship has had yuri bait since quite literally Ayami's introduction. I don't really blame people for thinking the author will actually explore. I don't really care for that route anyways, so if all of that ends up being just bait, I wouldn't really care or be bothered
That’s what I’ve been saying. They teased it from all the “ I put you first even though I knew yuu longer” or how they barely knew each other but they’re already “besties” but they been playing around it for to long and it’s slow paced

So essentially they are both dummies & that is why they went to the hot spring together. I expect Hikari to keep being friends with her even after all the shit Yami put her through. Hikari is a saint & no one can take that away from her unless Maruto sensei goes character assassination. Thanks for the translations.
She's not a saint, she's just a complete dumbass who does all this because she feels she's supposed to, because it fits her role as the class president or whatever.

Eh, Yuu made that decision b/c at the time he didn't think Aya was an option
Yuu made that decision because he wanted to be with Hikari. That is the entire reason he went to their school that day after spending a year avoiding the place (even when he actually did search for Ayami, he still never went as far as their school out of his own fear/cowardice, yet he went there on that day for Hikari)

This is the same guy who started crying after Ayami kissed him, btw
(the comment last chapter about Hikari not remembering special places)
Except that's flanderisation/character regression for the sake of, as I said, dumping all of this onto Yuu. Yuu has been aware that she remembers special places since over 40 chapters ago. My entire point is that the manga is bending over backwards to make things Yuu's fault

I mean, it´s the main reason who also justifies the role-reversal nature of the relationship Yami-Yuu. We need Yami as a character literally saying us the only way she can interacts sexually with a boy, is being a fucking dominatrix. And yes, pegging.

Half this, half show how Haru is basically an abusive tsundere who precisely represents the worst part of the old tsundere trope. Maruto want use her to say us: "a classic tsundere girl never never never would fall in love with Yuu". He is too much femenine and good boy for Haru. That is the reason why is precisely Haru who gives the comment about special places.
Haru is securely the character who has judged worse to Yuu and she definitely is the incarnation of Team Hikari people inside the story.

Are there zero adult presence in these three nuthead kids' lives?
Yuu parents are basically the overprotective parents from the trio (and the reason why Yami had to carry Yuu to love hotels instead fuck on home like any normal hormonal teenager). They probably are more worried for Hikari right now than her real biological parents.
And yes, knowing Yami mind, we can be secure she definitely doesn´t want be adopted by those parents in the way Hikari was.
ToxicYuri stonks continue to go to the moon. Hikaryami ship options are printing. Yuu fans on suicide watch
The best thing who can happen with Yuu is an ending when he ends as the boyfriend of Yuki. That girl has proven more ability to understand and guide Yuu in the entire series than all the other girls combined -and only Yami is able to compete with her-.
The bad part is would be too much fatalist. It would imply Yuu Izumi will end in the arms of Miyako Shikimori in any timeline. In the arms of... Chiaki.

Out of grief over how their relationship ended and the lack of closure, not b/c he didn't want anything to do w/ her. He admits as much to Hikari when they hash it out later, where he uses the same language for his feelings for Aya and Hikari. Post confession Yuu has yet to reassure Hikari that no really she's his choice, if anything the opposite when he tells her he's willing to throw her away to help Aya.

Yuu has been aware that she remembers special places since over 40 chapters ago
That's sort of the the point, that his doubts are illogical. Yuu went on about how he's unworthy of Hikari and doubts her interest while confessing to her. He even brings up his feelings of not feeling like he deserves Hikari to Aya when he talks about how he's hurt Hikari too much.

My entire point is that the manga is bending over backwards to make things Yuu's fault
Or the author legit wants to get across that Yuu's lack of self esteem and lack of resolve are the major roadblocks in Yuu's life that are gonna continue to cause him all the grief until/unless Yuu decides he's got actual worth and shows some resolve? If Yuu was the protag then these would be the flaws he'd have to work on to get his happy ending. Or they're the flaws that are the reason for his tragic ending.

Except the reason why he cried is the same reason he wanted to put a bookend on things. Because he did want to put a bookend on things. He stopped going to the station to look for her entirely. He tried putting her out of memory. That was before the school festival incident had even happened (at least, chronologically). The reason he cried, the reason he wanted to bookend that chapter of his life, the reason he never actually went as far as her school even when he was still looking for her, is because that shit hurt. Again, he went to their school that day for Hikari
That's sort of the the point, that his doubts are illogical
There is a difference between a character naturally being illogical and a writer ignoring things that they have already established for the sake of convenience (or because they just forgot). This is the latter. Yuu, as at the WN's chapter 11, knows that she does remember those things
Yuu went on about how he's unworthy of Hikari and doubts her interest while confessing to her
Doubted. He was talking about why he hadn't confessed before all this time. And part of it was because he didn't want for it to just be mixed signals, as he states in that chapter that that has happened before
Or the author legit wants to get across that Yuu's lack of self esteem and lack of resolve are the major roadblocks in Yuu's life that are gonna continue to cause him all the grief until/unless Yuu decides he's got actual worth and shows some resolve?
And every single time he's shown some resolve has blown up in his face Yuu is the story's punching bag

Again, the only explanation what I found is the sex in love hotels, because is definitely the only one thing in this series who 16 year old teenagers usually doesn´t make. If Yuu and Yami would have fucked in the typical parentless empty houses (this is much more usual), we wouldn´t see so hate for them.

As if there wasn't already a sex scene with two of the main characters, the fact that the characters are 16 or older doesn't justify their chronic stupidity and the author's unwillingness to make it good

Japan might be relatively safe bc I can't imagine a teen girl falling asleep like that in public in America but you'd think there'd be curfew cops or so unless they just didn't know her age bc she's not in uniform

Everybody swears this is going end in yuri and watch how it ends with them just being friend and ta kun being left out

Even tho toxic Yuri is a thing I don't rly get any bi vibes from Hikari even tho there was an early joke chapter of yami "almost" stealing her first kiss

Even if it might happen in some manga, idk if this story is realistic to how actual jp teens would act but it'd be hard to see a situation where they just have a bi awakening, I'd more likely expect all three of them to have different partners in a flash forward

I would want this to be bait only because it would be really, really amusing to me.

He didn't want Hikari to find out, same reason he stopped looking for Aya at the station when he saw Hikari.

Yuu, as at the WN's chapter 11, knows that she does remember those things
A major theme in this novel is toxic insecurity - Hikari/Yuu/Aya all repeatedly show and tell Aya and Yuu that they're important to them and neither Aya nor Yuu believe it.

And every single time he's shown some resolve has blown up in his face
B/c his resolve is always half baked. He folded on Hikari as soon as he fails the exam, won't chase after Aya if it risks Hikari finding out, doesn't solidify a relationship after the failed rejection even though Hikari told him she's in love with him.
