First time that I read about Anna Karenina in manga was in Negima, in Chao Lingshen arc.

It's worse than that, he's some sort of unhinged sadist that gets his jollies via other people's misery. We know only about two cases of him cucking, but he's obviously used to pushing people's buttons in other ways, like shown during his soccer practice and how much it hits him when he's against someone who it does not work on. Given his crashout, I don't think whatever influcence daddy has was ever really tested before.
Liked by his fellow students? Nah, definetly not the case, excluding his best friend. The whole school is messed up, to be honest. I've seen a few different ones myself and while there's never a shortage of assholes, I've never seen a situation where the student body operates as some sort of hivemind that believes anything that comes from the local "celebrities", as they were reffered to. In fact, it's pretty much always the case that the more popular some kids are, the more "skeptics" also form around that don't much care for them. Here the MC was told to his face: "Popular kids versus you, anyone would believe the former" which is insane reasoning no one would normally even admit to.
The thing is, we learn that the mother knows the former mayor only much later, after the whole faculty rallies behind him, with no one even mentioning something like "yeah, this one's family is connected, it would be bad for us unless we do something". It's made to seem like everyone wants to help for purely altruistic reasons or professional pride. So unless you assume that they are all acting, there's no indication of this.
Probably, though my point was that this particular kid seemingly has all the people in the world to fall back on: a family that will move mountains, a school faculty that seem to spend more time investigating only on his behalf than teaching, a friend that drops everything and comes running to help, even random strangers willing to risk their ass for him just because they were in his position in the past. Given all that, this guy still talked about having no one and planned to off himself. What a dumb kid...

This man hasn't forgotten what the MC did for him. After everything he went through, the MC helped him build a better life, and now he's determined to make sure his friend doesn't go down that same dark path. Because that's what real friends do! Having only clicked the occasional spoiler she's still got a lot of the trademarks of an addict to me. With her fix being some mediocre dick instead of heroin/alcohol.
She's still being an intensely shitty person but having watched a couple of family members burn their lives down on multiple occasions because of their addictions I see a lot of parallels.
Kondo's lawyers says it best later to the idiot
That he only went after SOFT targets like Eri and Miyuki, guys like Endou and Eiji were not VIOLENT PEOPLE, and so he assumed himself invincible, now he's going into a institution that will ALSO have many MANY teens who have a grudge against Kondo namely the SOCCER CLUB as they fucked themselves WORSE after their helping him bully Eiji results in their expulsion, yeah small spoilers, but the Teacher AND Ms. Aono find a video of what happened in Chapter 1, this leads to Kondo and Miyuki expulsion, as it shows they both lied, and as Miyuki was injuried by HIM, it's VERY CLEAR the picture taken WAS from his phone and DONE with Miyuki's blessing (She allowed it because Kondo guilt her into it, after they left, Miyuki's guilt got the better of her and Kondo guilt her into "letting him" because "she got him involved in HER relationship mess" and Miyuki was too panic and stupid to realize "the second he propositioned her and they were having an Affair, which as noted Miyuki still refused to call it what it was!" but yeah he can't deny it wasn't him this time that encouraged the spreading since he was the source of it) and while not really her BLESSING, her lying assured she was an accomplice so yeah she can't talk her way out of it! Not that she will, as by the time she's told all this, Kondo pulled the Cork before he was arrested, namely dumping her when Endou reveals his still dating Eri and giving her a bracelet Miyuki gave HIM and dumping her on the spot before mockign her in thinking their relationship was anymore then sex and her being a cheating skank, shaming her for EVER considering herself SMART!
And yeah that scene with Miyuki and her mom was added and extended mostly to make what happens later,
When Ms. Amada SLAPS HER at the police station ALL THE MORE SWEETER, ESPECIALLY when Miyuki starts with lying and trying to throw Eiji under the bus for WHY she ended up being picked up! I'm throwing it out there, but the way she's acting in the Manga, I wouldn't be shocked that she paints Eiji as having abandoned her to the police like the Coward she's been acting lately! TOO BAD FOR MIYUKI, AFTER what she did here, her mom called Ms. Aono BECAUSE of her comment about Eiji, and she realizes the little bitch never told her mother what she did, so tells her, getting the call from the Police on what she was doing and what she tried to say finally set her off, hence the SLAP

This is where it ends, she will never have sex with Kondo again, ESPECIALLY after Endou reveals to her about Eri later on, BEST PART IS the REVEAL was a picture he took of them dating RECENTLY where she was wearing a bracelet that Miyuki GIFTED HIM so when Kondo tries to weasel out of it, she points it out, and well Kondo who was calling her for help at the time, decides THAT was teh moment he "put his stinger into the foolish frog that was miyuki" and does to her what he did to Eri in the flashback of him dumping her over the phone, even mocking her for thinking she's any better! Basically how is she crying "she got cheated on" when they weren't dating, and she was CHEATING WITH HIM ON EIJI! Basically a reminder that she was still delusionally refusing to see what she was doing with Kondo as cheating! This is the part where she can no longer DENY she wasn't a Cheating Skank anymore in her mind. Also I belive THIS is where her "Inner woman" turns on her! No longer making EXCUSES for her bad behavior like "she's a woman she can't help it" and instead more "Oh now you want to regret" as the Inner Woman was more "her true self making excuses" and now it's "her conscience going to town on her pathetic attempts to make excuses for herself when she DID KNOW BETTER!" That's the mistake some folk make with her, they keep treating her like a child, missing Kondo ALSO is a child AND she knows better, she's a smart girl, she just chose to be an idiot for the sake of selfishness disguised as "Selflessness" and as said with the Inner Woman, because she let the bad thoughts in and NOW things are going wrong, she can't shut them out!
One thing I'll say is your likely not going to like the early part of the next chapter if I'm guessing what the Manga Writer is going to do
After they have sex, Kondo makes his move to convince Miyuki to completely give up on Eiji and HE'LL be a better BF then he ever could, basically he wants her to do what Eri did to Endou as remember, he delusionally thinks he can steal Ai from Eiji and wants to hurt him further. MIYUKI ACTUALLY CONSIDERS IT because she's at the point of "giving up" on ever getting back with Eiji, and Kondo did a GREAT JOB convincing her dumb ass that "maybe it would be better to make it official" when the cops arrive. I LOVED how Kondo's first thoughts seeing them and Miyuki's PANIC as she knows it's OVER NOW as she's been caught was to "abandon her" yelling at her to RUN, which makes it WORSE as now the cops who came to "just talk" KNOW they commited what they were reported they were doing, and of course Kondo "evading the police" resulting in him getting chased and arrested when their taken away! But the fact she was CONSIDERING shows how near GONE she was, and makes what happens at the Station with her mother SO MUCH SWEETER though sad because the Stress of giving Miyuki the 3rd FUCKING DEGREE! And Kondo thinking he can "smooth talk" her assuming it would make him look GREAT to Miyuki and make up for his cowardice before the pick up. Yeah Ms. Amada OUTRIGHT compares him to her Ex, Miyuki's father, the horror of realizing her baby girl betrayed and hurt Eiji "over a man who is the exact same POS appearance and personality wise as the man who ABANDONED HTEM BOTH! Yeah Ms. Amada has been working herself near to death for Miyuki's sake and her future.....those things Miyuki took for granted so Eiji was not the ONLY PERSON her selfishness hurt
This is the Wake Up call that more or less "starts waking Miyuki up! The TRUE wake up call is "when she meets Eiji again and gets rejected", and when the incident with Endou showing her Kondo's "other relationship" I mentioned in the other spoiler and him dumping her and calling her the fool she is! Hits her! The biggest one is when her mother at the hospital tells her EXACTLY how much the Aono's aid has helped them to the point they were more BENIFACTORS! Best way to describe it, is Eiji would be a "rich boy who helped a girl out since childhood out of poverty, and she thanks him by aiding his enemy in ruining him because she delusionally thinks they were just friends who knew each other" and this is more to illustrate her UNGRATEFULNESS as anyone AWARE of these circumstances would have thought TWICE about playing along with Kondo's actions towards Eiji! This shows she REALLY took everything for granted, and THIS is where she gets disowned, well not in that her mother isn't her mother, just that in "if Miyuki doesn't fix her life up in the remaining time she has till 18, her mother will wash her hands of her and she will be on her own!" Not just his other best friend Satoshi, there was a Kouhai from his club who also liked him, Eiji was pretty well liked, just that most of those who would have sided with him other then Endou weren't in school when teh slander hit and well what happened with his club, yeah that one is a SUPER SPOILER and I didn't make this to super spoil you, but I will make a spoiler EXTRA on them if you ask, but other then that Kouhai I mentioned, NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THOSE CLUB MEMBERS DESERVE ANY SYMPATHY OR MERCY once you do find out the full story on them! And that Eiji's EXPLUSION from the club....was on purpoe!

It was Miyuki betrayel, the betrayel of his club, basically all of that hit Eiji all at once out of nowhere. He really didn't know what to do or think, NOW that he's calmed down, especially thanks to Ai, he has started realizing WHO HE'D HURT. He was also unaware of his MOTHER'S own aid, like the former mayor! If Satoshi HAD BEEN IN SCHOOL, he would have immediatly taken Eiji's side. The fact Miyuki makes no comments and lets OTHERS talk for her makes her sus, but no one will think on that till AFTERWARDS....and no one learns their lesson fully AFTER what the teacher fucking SAID when the tide TURNS, only bad luck for US is Kondo is removed and immediatly expelled before the student body finds out the truth, so only MIYUKI suffers the consequences, at least their smart to keep their BULLYING/SHAMING to sending her texts at least, still not smart, but Miyuki is on her way out at that point and is a pariah so not shocked especially now that she's a KNOWN LIAR AND DECEIVER by her own bad behavior, as said, by letting Ritsu (her friend) and Kondo "do all the talking" and making excuses, ESPECIALLY at the Interview with the Teacher, she assured when the truth came out, she would be seen as a mastermind....instead of the pawn that she was, which makes her pathetic.

Kondo made the mistake that POS Rich Boy in John Wick Chapter 1 made in regards to John.....he assumed him a Nobody, and so never expected retalation! When Kondo thinks he can "save milady" by trying to calm Ms. Amada down and present himself as the "new guy replacing Eiji" only to get Ms. Amada seeing him like she "saw the Devil himself" namely in comparing him to THAT POS ex Baby Daddy of hers! I can really feel for her, to find her daughter betrayed Eiji.....for the exact REPLICA OF HER SPERM DONOR! A man who abandoned HER ALONG WITH HER MOTHER AS NOTED! Yeah it really made me hate Miyuki more then I did at this point in the story.....I do start liking her again, but that's ONLY after she finally can no longer convince herself she was ANYTHING but a POS all around, A TERRIBLE DAUGHTER, A TERRIBLE PERSON, A TERRIBLE GIRLFRIEND.....And a TERRIBLE FRIEND!" At that point when she FULLY accepted she deserved to lose everything, and started making amends was when I liked her, abit hurt by the fact it took FUCKING KONDO DROPPING THE MASK and ONLY when Endou showed her that she was much a JOKE and Toy as everything else around him, did she finally wake up, and that was of course AFTER the truth finally came out, and only SHE was left to deal with the consequences (Kondo and the Mastermind are on their way to PRISON, the Mastermind to Adult Prison LOL and Kondo gets juvie, but seeing how he was one year to adulthood, and DADDY GOES BYE BYE! His life is essentially OVER! At least Miyuki can REPAIR her life. I think the Japanese call it as I'm comparing it to "kintsugi" (If you played the new Onimusha game, this is referenced with how Gold is stiching the main character Mushashi's body together after he was killed at the start of the game) In the end those MARKS will forever be seeable on Miyuki, she will NEVER get her mother's trust back to 100% like before this again! And she's lost her current life, FUTURE and relationships with Satoshi, Eiji AND Ms. Aono! All for a POS who admitted he was playing with her and saw her and her life as a game he can ruin! Eiji NEVER would have had to deal with him if not for her!

Didn't one of Miyuki's friends try to apologize to the MC? I remember it was mentioned in the early comments on this forum

I dont think she is addict to romance or anything, She admits later on that she was trying to fill that hole in her heart that was left by her father and unfortunately, she mistakenly thought that Eiji wasnt enough to fill that gap. She later realizes how incredibly wrong she was when she is confronted by Ai and sees her life fall apart. She is a very damaged character making very very poor decisions and she will pay dearly for it. My biggest issue is the way some people talk about her in these threads, its gross. But i try to understand that not everybody reads the LN/WN.
