They were trying to hide weakened God Shiro from the elves by taking the backroads to a country run by that Pope ally of Ariel. Unfortunately when they got to a border it was closed due to random Ogre, so Ariel decided to hunt it down to get past the border with minimal issue.

They got ambushed by a bunch monsters and got separated, and for Shiro's group it's all Ogre now.
