Something tells me he's going to have reason to go to the mountains anyways, especially with what he knows about what could happen if a particular noble's daughter dies because of a choice made by the kingdom/academy. I wonder is this perchance foreshadowing some being or something that is trying to reset the course of history that has been altered because of our main protagonist, just the usual spiel of overconfident and/or evil fools or is this just coincidence 🤔

I feel it's less about not wanting to risk his life and more about his promises to Licia and her father since that means he'd be away for a month (in which time anything could happen, which, considering all that has happened, kind of makes sense.)

Unfortunately, I imagine fridging a lesser known character twice would kill the readership.
