Dunno how that would be interesting tbh. There is 0 setup for such a development (their relationship is arguably going stronger than ever sans the music bit) and those other characters still are absolute strangers to us that barely have any connection to the mains.
We know they are quite whiny and into the mains. That‘s it.

Author completely lost me now. How are you supposed to form any kind of opinion on these new characters when all they do is monologue in the most main chara syndrome way and uwu stop being nice to me or..

4 chapters showcasing Aya and Koga‘s perfect relationship that people can only dream of into 1 chapter of two randoms woe is me I am falling for this savior.
I am sorry but repeating that over and over just doesn‘t work and do anything IMO. Much rather would have some organic progress soon.
This.

I dont mind angst. But adding 2 randoms after all thoses chapters? And they like our inseparable MCs? I really cant enjoy this. Plus the fact it is not even miscommunication, It's straight ZERO communication wich is really bad writing (to my taste of course!).

Even if it ends with the 2 "rivals" liking each other (wich i really think is the main goal) I dont like the writing: "our mcs don't talk at all."

They will never break up, it's not this kind of story at all. Plus they dont even show ANY interest to shu nor ringo. So I dont get it. Pointless imo.

LETS GOOOOOOOO RED YURI AND TALL YURI? :meguupog:
Pack it up gang love doesn't last forever~
I wonder who'll cheat first :wooow:

Edit: man it's hilarious reading some of you guys downplaying the two new characters as random. I get the pacing is terrible and all but they aren't just randos

If Mr.Author is really set on doing this... he needs to build up the other characters some more before pulling the trigger. Because as it stands, my reaction to a break up would probably be to stop reading.
My biggest pet peeve against the magazine-based publication scheme of manga is that it encourages authors to milk series way past the point where things have gone stale. Not that I can blame them, it's how they make money. And who doesn't like money?

The author is a woman. And this isn't published in a magazine, it's published on her twitter.

Edit: Why are people striking this? The author is a woman, what exactly do you disagree with?

gods forbid people makes friends when they are already in a relationship
I think people forget Aya and Mitsuki have to be romantically interested for this to matter and they're not. Doesn't matter if other people see the beauty in them and like them. That happens and should happen when our MCs are so awesome. Nothing in this chapter suggested Aya or Mitsuki reciprocates anything, or even realizes someone might like them.

There's absolutely nothing to worry about at the moment. The author has thrown in as many "they are still fine and in love" chapters. She can't be any more blunt about that. I'm assuming this arc will go in a more unique direction and that's what she's been signaling by those reassuring chapters. It's cute seeing both girls on the same train completely defeated by the unintentional gravity both Aya and Mitsuki have.

I'm honestly excited to see what Shu and Rinko bring to the table. I suspect they'll each have a hand in assisting Aya and Mitsuki reach their respective aspirations and the individual character arcs they've got going on. But I hope they get their own story arcs as well (to a degree at least) and the playout should be fun to see.

We should also not miss some important details from the chapter. I was reminded of the need to mention this from a different forum so I'll add it here:

Mitsuki is definitely wondering about music again and there should be more discussion about that. Also music helped Shu-chan ignore the pain in her knee. It must have been so good to feel "pain free." I'm sure she'll be attending more concerts now. The way music was connecting people was so interesting in this chapter and I'm anticipating how that will continue. Maybe Shu eventually attends a Mitsuki event.
Incredible seeing an entire comment get it all wrong like that, yeah. Especially this far in.
Just goes to show how quickly people pull out the soapbox nowadays even when it doesn't apply.

12 pages? Triple the content, triple the fun!

And what a big, thematic chapter it was. "Connections" are being formed even when our leads are apart. Something really neat is how the panel design adds meaning to the story. Arai is very very good at panelling. I love how the last panel shows Shu and Rinko, diagonal in the same subway car, sharing the pensive sigh. They've both had moments of personal growth, spurred on by our lead characters. They have a connection between them, unknown to them. They find themselves in the same place, literally and figuratively. Parallel structures, parallel themes. Stuff like this is why this is the number one all-time OtakuXGyaru romance story.

Some more art wins from this chapter: The "throb" sfx spreading across the pages where Shu appears, like a persistent fly nagging at her. The transition from Aya handing Shu a drink, separating the page top and bottom, into Rinko's dilemma with two drinks. Then the transition on page 7, with Koga's hands playing guitar/the band beginning to play, to bring us back to Shu and Aya, repeating the same visual device from the drink handoff. On pages 10-11 we get twin scenes of Rinko/Koga and Shu-Aya looking at each other after their personal revelations. All these parallel moments showing their connections- so good.

If we are setting up a big messy love quadrilateral, then it's being done well. Life can get messy and confusing, just like the web of connections in this chapter. But I don't think it will go there. At least not into true NTR or cheating or anything beyond one-sided crushes. Right now, I think of Shu and Rinko more as yuri kouhais under mentors Aya and Mitsuki. It's interesting to think of what would happen if Shu and Rinko ever met. Would they be like cat and dog, fighting over whose mentor is cooler, before realizing that their mentors are a couple? That would be fun.

This feels like a “His and Her Circumstances”. For those not in the know that was an older romance manga/anime. Long story short, the manga kind of hands the torch to another couple once the first one completes their romantic arc and becomes settled. Perhaps this is the same kind of thing: adding a new couple to follow along as well to keep the “drama” levels up now that the main couple doesn’t have as much.

To be honest, ever since the time skip I've had trouble keeping track of who is who, and what the plot is. I should probably go back and re-read it all.
ya... can someone give me a hint here, who is this Shu person and when did they show up? were they here before the time skip?

Yo the knee injury thing hits hard. I'm pain in both my knees almost everyday. Hurt one at work and then the other from a fall outside within like 6 months of each other. They've never been the same. The pain is only like a 5 or 6 at worst on a bad day so I'm not where shu is (I assume) but god if I don't hate the pain on bad days.

I do like seeing angry characters find some peace somehow. I also want to see koga get back into music again already T_T
