Yeah, Nico probably would pass on when Tsugumi found someone who loves him back, that might be the premise he made to her, to find someone he can love as much as he loved her.

Otome has died, Nico wandering for 10 years, although her cheerful personality keeps her in check, there were moments where she was slumping around. Meeting Tsugumi brought her spirit up, but it's time for her to rest...
