@Mangamoz As @slackingaround says, it's referring to the Original Timeline.

If you look at pages 8 and 9 for this chapter, you see the stone shack that they're living in, in Chapters 1 and 2.
Now, see Chapter 5.5 Page 15, it's an ad for the Bonus story in the Vol 1 tankōbon. At the bottom, "The course events which would have taken place had they not met Grey, will be made clear." So, the scene that's "dreamt" about in this chapter: Page 6, Panel 1, Isuka is subdued, and witnesses what happens to the kids and to Aria(No clue why that r*pe happens, it's a different guy than the Temple Knight Grey Kills, so they should all know she's the Saintess). Four years later(Chapter 5.5 page 15), Isuka, goes on a bloody rampage, burning the church and takes down the hero for revenge about what happened to Aria and his family.

Edit: Typo too much Iria on my mind.

Wait, this was an isekai? I’d completely forgotten lmao
This is one of the problems with modern Isekai stories: they often have the Isekai part happen at the beginning and then NEVER bring it up again, which makes you question why such a detail needed to exist in the story in the first place.

As much as I like this story, it also falls into this same category, in that the MC could be from this world and basically nothing would change. Well, aside from the whole "this is what would have happened if the MC didn't get isekai'd into this world" side/extra story, but even that could technically be handwaved as well without needing the Isekai.

Yeah, it’s why I like time reversal a bit more than isekai, but you only really get that with villainess manga for the most part

I hope series like freiren and dungeon meshi becoming mainstream cause enough of a ripple for them to just return to full fantasy, classic fantasy tropes are more interesting to play around with than isekai tropes. There are some cases where both are kinda explored like saihate no paladin, but that also kinda doesn't need the isekai hook what with how rich the worldbuilding that story has

Isekai: The story has reminded us of this fairly regularly, as MC has various flashbacks to his previous life. And it's germaine, since his own family (father, mother, little sister) all died when he was just a teen. That's why he wants a family.

Game Isekai: This has been mentioned several times, and it also applies to MC motivation. He was barely familiar with the game, but he did know that "Isuka" was the name of the MC of the game.

This was supposed to be a story of a game, it's scripted to be that way as long as there's no disruption. Grey isekai in this world and he becomes the anomaly that disrupt/change the story. So i think it's somewhat important for this story.

The isekai component has been important to the way the plot works if nothing else. While I figure our MC would have adopted a bunch of orphans (because as we learn this chapter, he really wanted a family), he was able to recognize and preempt threats to his kids due to knowledge about this world's "story" according to his past life.

Admittedly, the way the MC has been written as is, he could just be strong and smart enough to handle all of these threats without foreknowledge. There would just be more burden on the author since they can't rely on "recap the story as recalled from the past life" style exposition.

Except Grey doesn't know anything about the setting. As he says in the first couple pages of chapter 1, all he knows is the default name of the MC and what amounts to a back of the box story knowledge. He also mentions a couple times throughout that he isn't even sure if the kids are related to the game or not.

Moreover he hasn't done anything foreknowledge-y, he killed the bandit group because they were creeping on the kids and he doesn't like leaving loose ends, and he got a warning about the hero's party from the Valkyries telling him they were coming and the inn keeper mentioning they were looking for the older girl.

Ah yes the glimpse of the timeline that supposed to happen (now if the extra materials from vol 1 is also translated so that we could soak more of the despair that is the intended timeline :haa: )

Good thing Grey is here huh?
(Also if anyone still wondering, Grey's past life lost everyone of his family member during high school from accident)

As of the bonus mentioned in the chapter, according to the raws
it is Nina's short chapter before meeting the orphans (could be considered as the hidden prologue to her arc later) and more of the itscanonevent 'timeline that supposed to happened without grey' depresso
It will be included in the vol 2 tankoubon. Plus bonus Nina switches skit.

Being Ariamel in og world timeline is suffering :meguuusad:. I hope Grey's can continue protecting his family seeing the stake is quite high here (Ariamel is a Saintess, Isuka is a hero, and now he adopt another hero???)
