It did no such thing. The prince committed a crime, and was punished. Absolute at no time requested to be made King or Prince Consort with her as Queen. The king just made the decision that doing so would benefit his country most, since losing the support of Absolute's family would end his family's reign either way.

Doing this, his blood remains in charge of the kingdom which is what all royals want, and his daughter gets the most powerful family backing her and keeping the other noble families in check. If the prince had not on his own committed a crime, it would not have worked out this way.

Ark is his last name, His first name is Absolute, but the tls keep mistranslating it as Apryuto

Yet in the original story that MC got isekai'd into, he was to be king, wasn't he? He was a major ally for the hero. Now he's disgraced and is full of fury. Yes, he's still going to ally with the hero with a lot less power, but he'll still scrounge up supporters to go after his sister to make a play for the crown he now believes was stolen from him. He's going to be a problem, still.

MC when summarizing the events of the game states Absolute dies not because the Hero was stronger but because he had more supporters, which is what the MC's goal has been to fix.

Kinda hard to say whether the King actually knew what the Prince was up to or not. But I'm leaning in the direction of "he knew" and at this time is just paying lip service. But, to my pleasant surprise, the mangaka has his character taking the situation seriously, with all the gravity it entails with the possible fallout.

So the Prince... has been removed from the line of succession. And the King has decided that he will offer his daughter, the Princess, to Absolute. Which is a smart move. It keeps his bloodline in-play, if not his family name, and all-but guarantees that Absolute won't come after him for anything more.

The fact that the Ark family is basically their black ops, this means that the kingdom should become a lot more stable. They know exactly who the troublemakers are and how to deal with them.

Now, let's see what the so-called "Hero" and the Prince get up to together. I'm betting dollars to donuts here that those two are gonna wind up digging their own graves.

Hot take(which it really shouldn’): apryuto is better than absolut, even if it’s correct, in the raws it’s spelled with katakana so Japanese people find it fine, just another random cool sounding word (to them), I’m reading this shi in eng god damn it, imagine sitting through chapters reading out Loud ”Absolute” each time mc gets called … and then having to read the mc’s skill which also has absolute in it (dialogue from ch2: master absolute‘s skill absolute evil 💀)

Though if the MC keeps princess blind, the hero will just hate him for it. "You're taking advantage of the disabled to take over this country! REEEEE!" Something like that. Or "You cured her blindness so you can take over this country! REEEEEE!"

Also, I still can't get over the prince still calling MC a coward when dude tried to jump him with a room full of his goons and cried when he got caught. Like, he brought evidence of your wrongdoing, and you cry and call him a coward when daddy confronts you over it? I'm glad this child is losing his crown prince role. Thing is, he'll find an ally with the "hero" and try to scrounge up support against the crown now. Dude will become a whiny rebel. Might as well give him a blue checkmark to complete the set.
