Yeah whatever was said here far from excuses the sister. In fact I'd say she's almost as equally culpable as the prince. If her entire plan was "oh i'll become crown princess, queen and then bring my sister back" she did a shit job of communicating it. She's also completely leaving out a lot of bloody context to wrap events to her own view, like everyone in the story ofc but hers is the worst presentation of events. While I bet there are scruples that MC did to nearly deserve her exile. Her sister has, like the MC stated, done and said literally nothing to stop this situation from escalating many bloody times. At this point i'm willing to bet that she even knew it was going to rain and forced her sister to take her in order to escape the damn engagement. Moreover, only wanted to get engaged to the prince, after he was engaged to her sister. The only thing she said that I can believe is that she wanted everything that was her sisters. The key part is she clearly knows that her sister likes the doll, and I believe the doll is the canon event for these idiots. Got so obsessed with being fawned on over her sister as a point of comparison she drew it to the natural finale where her sister got screwed over. Now, even if she has regret I say she can eat it.

It seems Aurora's greed for her sister('s things) was not as far removed from Karina's imagination as we might have thought. The motivation might be different: monopoly over jealous. But the fact of the matter is she did want.

Unfortunately for Eve, I doubt it will be as easy as a simple talking to. Karina's depressed state of mind would make her receptive to very little. And her trust issues would never allow her to hear the words of her most hated enemy.

But perhaps Reshutoka might be more available to hear them out?

So, they're going to use the part where she says she just doesn't talk when she's uncomfortable to blame the prince entirely for the condemnation where she sat watching not refuting? And they're going to twist the part where she said she would take charge of the hunt for her sister, as merely since she was in charge she could do it incompetently on purpose? If you were able to speak out about the manhunt for her, you sure should have been able to speak up at the party.

Huh, so Eve's hair is blue.

It's almost like there's such thing as passage of time and people change.

Yeah, I honestly don’t know what to make of this chapter. Sure, we get more context about Aurora, Karina, their relationship, and their family situation, but none of it really helps Aurora’s image at all. If that’s the author’s intention, then fair enough. It’s just that in stories like this, I think you at least need to feel something toward the characters, even if it’s strong hatred, but with Aurora, I just feel meh. She just kind of sucks.

Thanks for the chapter!

Okay.... so how in the fuck did the rumors about Karina escalate to what they currently are? Even looking at the sister with a kind view, saying "oh she was also just a kid, she messed up but clearly loves her", how, after now actually having authority, are there such horrific stories about her "Beloved" sister?

The parents weren't subtle about having a favorite child. If I was karina, I wouldn't want anything but revenge for being viewed and treated as a tool for political and financial gain. Karina may not understand why her little sister did what she did, but it was the only card she had to free karina from being used by society. Whatever karina had, the sister wanted and karina ended up having to give it to her. Karina's whole life became, live for the family's benefit, no fun and happiness for you. P.S. "we like your sister more and she gets to have fun and a childhood, deal with it loser..."

If karina was truly causing problems in the capital like the nobility claim, it was probably a form of revenge as well. "I'll ruin the reputation of the royal family, my family and cause a ruckus for taking away my freedom and using my life like it's a piece on a chessboard."

Aurora has to take her place to marry the prince so she can prevent the nobility and royals from having karina executed. This was all she could do. Aurora contributed to karina's misery, whether she realized at the time or not, she's guilty of deeply hurting karina. Karina has the final say if she'll forgive aurora after learning aurora's motives. I'm fine with karina saying, "I see, cool story sis, don't talk to me or my wife ever again."

Society can suck it man.

Her story technically contradicts chapter 4 pages 12-13.

Also, Karina still did nothing wrong. The attempts to make up shit to justify her sister's actions are getting silly.
Both actors push their point of view of the events, that can be distorted, either by malice or by trauma.
Wethever Karina did nothing wrong is actually still to be seen. The scenes we were shown in chapter 1, seems to indicate she did something, that at least could be framed badly.
