true, Jesus fucking christ i cant take these MCs that are just there, the world is falling on their heads and they are just there, dude was suposed to be matured adult, suffered a lot during his young adult years, one would think at LEAST he would have some malice or would be able to think something bad was going on but no, he acts like he is 17 and just broke up with his best friend for the first time, it actually feels everything he went until now is the first time experience, he doesnt look like a teacher or a older man, we have examples of older MCs that are dummies but dependables because the age is there, author imo is really weak writting male protagonists, he can do cool girls but male MCs is a complete let down

it does feels really weird, i just read "old knight bard roehn" and "my S class daughter came back home", in these two works we can absolutely see good MCs, they are dummies but they are not complete retards, i dont understand why author wanted to write this story with this teacher that behaves so juvenile, not even once he standed to defend even the people that he supposedly loves, we are in chapter 31, how much of a pussy MC is really ? i dont even know if there is room for more

I made 2 comments in this forum, and I NEVER said I like the MC, I said "this is nice" because I like comeuppance stories where the antagonist gets their karma like the elf teacher, stop putting words in my mouth

Let me give you one prime example of a comment where it gets too far:

Japanese culture is so weird, why do they love to pick loser like this? These guys don't deserve to be happy. Just pick a normal people as a main character please.

Even the guy feels bad and says It's a bit harsh, this type of manga exists there's a market for it, hell there's even a market for fucking furries and all kinds of disgusting kinks, all people need to do is stay away from it, I took an interest of this manga because I like the arts and as I told you before I like bad people gets karma, it's satisfying

And finally, if you take time to read the manga there are a lot of breadcrumbs here and there on why the MC became that kind of character, this guy here explains it perfectly:

PTSD? Fuck....People here think that PTSD makes you a subhuman doormat......Damn people read what PTSD IS before commenting or better talk to some war veterans.
Some stated that he might have PTSD due to having a mission where he broke in a facility where monster were being experimented on (the same ones he was teaching before, not those girls directly but only their kind). Basically he saw that due to his rank he saw very bad things, did some genocide to scientists and was disheartened by the kingdom OR/and failed to save someone. And now he has PTSD....Right.

I will say this people with heavy case of disappointment and PTSD if they had ability, they would rather go and live alone in the woods. I doubt that they would be happy to serve as a punching bag by everyone and even create atmosphere for that.
What we see here is not a 50y old man, what we see her is just a mask in reality it's more like 16y self deprecating boy with severe case of low self-esteem but author decided to add a bit of fetishism and added MC another 34 years, just to add "spicy".

P.S. PTSD is largely met among soldiers but everyone can get it if they encounter an event with sufficient trauma level.

Look, I get it people have things they dislike, and I admit I'm a little bit hypocritical here since even I have made similar distasteful comments in the past, I'm not trying to be a higher/bigger person here, but don't think is it necessary for the overblown hate?

Calling it now. This is some sort of 'self-sacrifice' to protect the girls, but the girls eventually makes the truth come to light and Washio is cleared from suspicion, and everyone feels bad. Meanwhile, Washio is being pathetic and will pathetically do nothing while the girls rescue him, then later be flustered by people apologizing to him because that's just how humble and nice he is. He will get more girls throwing themselves at him, who he will reject while stoically refusing to have any personality whatsoever as the plot happens around him.

I didn't read it all in laziness but yeah you're definitely right but we only exclaimed our frustration because it's really stupid to read I have a manga in comparison where the guy also thinks he's inferior to the other and yet the author managed to write us a prota who evolves and gains confidence in himself we just see a shit.. no a big shit who can't even question himself because of ptsd while he's not even alone in the anime he has support and everything but he doesn't evolve, that's what's frustrating. and here is the name of the manga where the prota is almost the same mentality at the beginning but has a good evolution "Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru ~Tada no Inaka no Kenjutsu Shihan Datta noni, Taisei shita Deshi-tachi ga Ore wo Hottekurenai Ken~"
