No, I completely understood that. I mentioned it here, "In any case, you can blame it on poor writing or whatever, but judging from the reaction of that soldier to the shopkeeper's outburst, it really seems like people in that world aren't really expecting much from the shoopkeeper, which is more in line with the point I'm trying to make."

Anyway. Yeah, you got the message across.

"Shinjuku was destroyed"

Best news i've heard for ages 😃

Well, jokes aside...... i think it is a good developement that one stampede place got wiped out...... it reminded us that the world is in a post apocalyptic place as described in first chapter and the story didn't stray off the rail...... or something.....

@Hollow7F Shinjuku is basically otaku central, maid cafes, hobby shops, specialty collectors, the works. It's often used as a backdrop for a lot of anime and manga because of its connection to the anime and manga fans as a main area for merchandise providers.

@Hollow7F While Shinjuku caters to many more people as a general shopping area (and has the largest train station in japan) Akiba aka Akihabara, is pretty much only anime and electronics. Sorry if I was confusing, I sometimes mix them up, but Akiba is definitely better for nerdy goodies while Shinjuku is a more open entertainment district.

They barricaded his garage dungeon using trucks that all the monsters can easily, with no effect, go under. Yet the solders were on top trying to keep them from going over...

Does it explain anywhere why the defence force aren't using guns? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the manga. I could understand if they somehow 'magically' don't work in the dungeon, but not working outside doesn't make sense. Beating monsters to death with a shovel doesn't seem to be the best way to go about things.

At the range they were fighting them and with that many monsters, I think guns would quickly lose their effectiveness after everyone has spent their magazines.
Furthermore, some of the monsters are too close to both the soliders and the civilians, and they wouldn't want to hit someone by accident.
There was a person who went down the dungeon. What if he had to jump out while the soldiers were raining lead at the dungeon entrance?

Just my speculation tho - I haven't read the source material.

[So there is no need to teach the mage girl "to not overly rely on people" because she already learned that lesson.]
thats the point, she should know not to overly rely on people, yet she still doing it, and even blaming the one who help her saving people, how ridiculous of that? i knew that she act like that because of the pressure, since this is her first "stampede", seeing shopkeeper girl didn't even worried showing she already knew that the stampede on MC's dungeon is not that strong....

[And it doesn't matter how 'common' death is for adventurers, there are only 2 in that town, the MC and the mage girl. The rest are normal towns people, who aren't used to dieing left and right, there was no dungeon near them till now so even if in other towns that's a thing, it wouldn't have been for them.]
thats also the point, because villagers never see the dungeon that the experience is needed so they can help adventures or protecting themselves.... and adventures too come from normal towns people who aren't used to dieing left and right....

and about level up screen or something, only MC who has access to that, the others didn't seem has that feature or something, other adventures just feel they get stronger after killing the monsters and level up, and yeah, magic probably only activated on the dungeon, like MC's stat screen....
and they are still growing, not about exp for leveling, but experience of fighting monsters on stampede, having high level but low level experience of fighting is like giving a gun to a toddler, example like MC, he has low stat than the boss but can defeat it, showing experience fighting against monsters is really valuable....

@Nematoda Are you daft? Once again, pretty much your entire post is actually just wrong. It's not even opinion, it's just wrong. Maybe English isn't your first language, but you're using so many words wrong.

Asking someone to help when there is literally too much for you to handle is not overly relying on people. People were getting injured so it was obviously beyond their abilities to handle safely. Asking for help is not over relying on people. Over relying on people means expecting people to do everything for you while not doing anything yourself.

And stop saying the shopkeeper was helping, because she wasn't. She killed 3 monsters and that's it, and she didn't do anything before that. And the MC's dungeon -was- strong compared to normal people. There are -no- adventures in the town 'cept MC and the Mage, so even basic monsters are a threat.

If the people die, not only do they learn nothing, but that means she just lets people die because she doesn't feel like doing anything. That's by no means good.

If all they're getting is "hands on experience" fighting the stampede then there is literally no reason for the shopkeepr not to help. They can get the experience while she fights along side them. She doesn't have to worry about slowing down their levels by stealing kills.

You trying to justify the shopkeeper only makes her an even worse person. Because there is no justification for it. She's simply a selfish asshole. It's her right to choose to be like that if she wants and no one can stop her. But that doesn't make it not being a selfish asshole. She did what would be the equivalent of not helping people out during a natural disaster when she has all the skills and equipment necessary to do it rather safely, just because it's "Not her town." Cause that's the thing, based on what we saw, this stampede is no threat to her. She wouldn't really be putting herself in any real danger.

@dudsuper8 This is Japan, their military isn't super heavily equipped. There is a possibility that the people sent to this town either don't really have much in the way of guns, or do not have full adequate training to use them. It is a little extreme that we don't see a single gun, but tanks and jets would've been mobilized to more important locations.
