When I did my Duke of Edinburgh gold award I walked 22 miles (35.4 km) for 4 days straight, there are other challenges out there with even further distances, no way would anyone take a horse and carriage over walking unless they were transporting cargo if that was actually true. At best it was a mistranslation or typo, at worst the author is legitimately stupid.

This is that kind of manga that the author was probably a chuuni once and then is just writing his teenage fantasy delusions. At least it has a plot though. All over the place, but it's a plot nonetheless.

I haven't had many complaints about this series so far (okay, maybe overusing his cheat skills), but him being an aeronautical engineer and then making a fucking glider makes my eyes roll.

All these comments about sudden airplanes in a fantasy setting, and nobody has mentioned the OG Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and her noble steed Mehve?! This thing is a direct rip-off... er... "tribute" to Miyazaki's creation. Even the air intake has the same shape!

I'm also amused that he came up with this glider at the tail end of a single chapter thanks to the Alchemy cheat skill, when this same goal is an entire couple arcs of "Rebuilding Civilization starts with a Village" since they have to build the whole tech tree properly without magic.

this arc is the most random, seat of the pocket, out of left field addition to an isekai I’ve ever read and it continues for like ten chapters

frankly I dunno why this whole manga wasn‘t a aeronautical isekai where he introduces magical aircraft in fantasy, that would have been much cooler and less jarring to read than just shoehorning it into an otome game

Right!? Like that could've been the concept for the whole thing. Isekaid airplane maker in a world of floating rocks, building modern craft to race dragons and broom flying witches and defeat some steampunk empire, would've been hella cool.

This manga did not need a random glider this late in and done in such a lazy way.

This whole thing just went from good to decent to instantly hella sloppy. Wth.

As a person who experienced failure and fell into the Biwa lake previously, shouldn't he make a parachute before going airborne ? It won't help if he's not high enough but it's still better than nothing, unless he intends for only a short and low altitude test flight ?
