I don't like ads, but I think affiliate sponsorship would be even worse.
If your income depends on another company, they can threaten to pull the sponsorship, if you do something they don't like. A chinese sponsorship might even be worse, but I don't actually know if chinese companies actually care about all the anti china stuff or not.

I know mangadex staff know better, than to just blindly sign contracts with other companies or something, I am just trying to voice my opinion, because surprisingly people are very much in favor of ads, and I don't really understand why.
And just to be clear I'm not completely against ads or sponsorships, I just hope they don't have an effect on the site. Visually they don't bother me one bit.

We absolutely will not allow an ad company or an affiliate (if we ever sign on with one) dictate how MD is run. We would simply refuse to use said ad service or affiliate. We have worked too hard to allow a third party to get their grubby mitts on MD.
