200% agree with everyone saying how ridiculous this whole arc is in every way. It's actively making the entire cast more and more insufferable and unlikeable. The author has managed to make everyone involved seem like awful, petty, vicious people, and it's going to be real hard for me to care about any of them in the future.
And can I just point out how incredibly fucked it is for Ellen, having realised that this whole scandal has blown up over literally nothing and that it's totally inappropriate for her goddess aunts to punish someone over a personal matter like this, she apologises to her uncle. Not the woman who she believes has been unfairly punished, no. She threatened her with death, both at the hands of the royal family, and her own. But her uncle deserves an apology, though. Right. I guess this was supposed to make her seem thoughtful and sensitive, huh? So much for that.
"But Aria would've tried something sooner or later!" Yeah? So? If its as inevitable as all that, punish her when she actually does try and cheat on her husband, and not right in front of the family's most hated enemy, when it could potentially start a war! "But she tried to touch his hand! Gasp! Scandal, scandal!" Grow up. Stop reading so much NTR, it's rotting your brain.
Even if it later turns out that the aunt is cheating on the side, none of that is actually known here, and they're all just yelling at her over some thoughts she had. I wouldn't be surprised if the author wrote all this thought-crime stuff, their readers called them out on it, and they just doubling down on making Aria more and more evil until she ended up becoming a serial cheater and a spy and a dark spirit from the hell dimension and Satan's left butt cheek, in a desperate attempt to justify how badly she'd been treated by all the supposed heroes.
