I’m glad big sis changed and grew for the better, but I don’t know why it still feels like someone died—especially with Shinba having flashbacks to her old self. Yeah, the oneeshota gimmick was outta pocket, but it gave her a sense of individuality. Now she’s kind of a Hizumi 2.0 (not a bad thing), just different. Seeing her off at the station was very bittersweet. I’m curious to see where she goes with her manga from here, and hopefully she doesn’t fall back into habits that undo her growth.
On another note, Hizumi’s fear of abandonment is on full display this chapter. She wants to support Shinba and help him grow, but the fear that he’ll "outgrow" her and leave keeps holding her back. It’s that internal conflict—wanting to support him but being unable to fully let go.
And the sad part is, she knows it’s wrong. She’s aware that her insecurities are stifling him, and she feels remorse. It’s not that she won’t help him grow—it’s that she can’t bring herself to.
Although, Shinba noticing her trembling makes me think he’ll start peeling back those layers and get to the root of her insecurities—especially now that they're going to live together. Because the version of Hizumi we saw in that highschool photo feels like a completely different person… and I'm very interested to see how that backstory unfolds.
Thanks for the TL.
