Chapter 1, Page 27, my dude.

Clause to Liz: "Your father hasn't returned from the battle. And my stupid father who took you in also went missing."

And then in Chapter 12, on Page 5, we got some details confirmed: Liz's father was a knight and is confirmed to be dead. Clause's father, an adventurer and close friend of Liz's father, has gone missing and is presumed to be dead. Clause does have a mother, but she is hospitalized due to the shock of her husband going missing.

I know some folks are a bit squicked out by their relationship, buuuuuuut.... I'm not sure when Liz got adopted, but I think it was when she was 10 and Clause was 14, so it's believable that the Westermarck Effect didn't have a chance to take effect.

Why is little sis working? Shouldn't he be stacked with money after killing that dragon?? If all he got for slaying that dragon was some shitty rank up and no money or rights over dragon body, then maybe true villains in this story are the guild and the kingdom
Aren't they always the true villains? Guild and guild staff usually be pretty well off while the very adventurers that make them money barely gets by unless they are rank B and higher. And only if they take up extremely dangerous jobs often.

Screw the drag.....oh....ok, nvm bad choice of words. Forget him slaying the dragon, him and Liz should already be rich from all the other things he sold to the guild.

I know it's way too late to ask this, but why is she dressed like an actual stripper?

It's the destiny of any female character who is a sneaky class be in as skimpy an outfit as possible.

Don't question it, just accept it.

I feel bad for the elf girl. All she did was do her job (stalking Claus) and she ended up getting broke because Automode's too unpredictable.

"slayed"?
slew*
Actually .... "slayed" is correct here... Even though it's an archaic form mostly only used by those once plying the art of the minstrel for dramatic effect. ( and to cheat at rhyme and scansion... )

slew = merely killed someone/thing.
slayed = wtfpwned someone/thing in an epic battle against all odds, etc.

I know of "slain" and "slew", but "slayed" seems wrong to me. But I guess I can look it up to see if I can find what you mention.

...So I found (aside from sources where "slayed" is not a thing, period): "it is slang/very modern", "it is past tense for the homonym 'slay': 'to delight or amuse immensly'; 'he slayed the audience'", and [explicit mentions] "'slayed' is incorrect".

For some reason I found nothing about it being archaic word for the slain creature being epic or whatever. I would very much like to ask what source you used.
Only really archaic forms I saw mentioned were "yslain","sleye", "slaye", "sleen", "slayn", and "slēan" and somesuch (some of those not even meaning the same things, but still considered related).
