Good take. I low key loved this chapter. You can see that everyone’s actions are kind of justified, even if the result is “bad”. Every character depicted with some depth, with all their conflicts and doubts leading to what we see. Good drama.

Also, when trying to kiss a girl for the 1st time, one should only do just a bit more than halfway to the lips of the girl, then letting her do the rest. Saw it in a film with Will Smith several years ago, kinda works

She is. There is no "maybe" about it. She literally having trouble understanding / comprehending emotions (both herself and others). She is most certainly a high functioning one (being a doctor and all). So it takes a very patient partner to deal with a person like her. Personally i wouldn't have the energy but considering MC has a kinda virgin adjacent personality, he probably will continue to stick with it. I will continue to think that this story would work better if they were young adults instead.

They did, but it was under the guise of “practice”.

23 chapters in still as good as ever, I think they're both good for each other. Yuuki might've jumped the gun, but they'll work it out. He's still the thoughtful, kind, and sexy-hairline dork that Ban fell for.

Looking back though, one thing that impressed me is he's genuinely respectful to her as a person. It's so easy to fall into the "I can fix your problem for you" hole that many men fall into, but he navigated it well by being there for her and giving her space to work out her own feelings and issues.

I love how this manga parodies all the usual tropes, and subverts them really well.
This is a scene right out of a telenovela, where the audience is just very confused about one partys actions, but here all their actions make sense.
Yuuki now knows that he has a rival, and doesn't want to be potentially left behind, so he acts rash.
And Ban is taken aback by the suddenness, and slaps him, but it defintely seems like it was just a reflex, considering she immediately apologized.

I also very much agree that she is somewhere on the autism spectrum.

What I also really like about this manga is that the adults mostly behave like adults, for the standards of Manga/Anime

She has acted impulsively several times, but I don't know if it makes sense with her personality to slap someone she clearly cares about.
But the contrast was made, right? She kissed him in chapter 1 as if it were nothing and here she refuses because the kiss is no longer something purely physical. She is afraid of real things if it was disguised as practice she would accept the kiss

Yeah I dunno. Slapping him is a bit much considering everything she's offered to do with him. Couldve just said no, could've pushed him away, but to slap him? Wtf? I'd nope right out.
