But it also explains his continuous power ups as well. The scale of his schemes and targets roughly increased over time, until he was even taking 'revenge' on the god of hell. He has to take increasingly more elaborate and consequential revenge in order to gain the power to go even higher.

Did his sister count as the first sacrifice? Does it need to be performed by him? Else what did he do in order to obtain black magic the first time?

true but I've been wondering what method of revenge Raoul used on her brother since it happened off camera if you don't remember Raoul pretended to be Lucas back in chapters 12-17 and then he one of the 5 summon by the god of hell for the events of 70-85

Correction Raoul's died 3 times that we know of the demon princess killing him was he's third in the white space where he met up the the goddess.
