Well seems like some of you didn't understand why the king want his heir to have vengeful spirit to the kingdom.
Here just think of it like this you doing gambling against this dude you know you can lose and you do lost but it didn't change the fact you would love to have it back as you know human greed and all that sort of stuff, there's also his integrity as a leader would be questioned by other countries ,because they let their territories taken just like that and they can't even let it go as it may set precedence to other countries to also try get their territories because they may think they are weak and wont fight back anyway

During a full on war:

“I wonder if husbando will ever smile again”

“I’m sure we can make him smile again”

“You’re right”

Seriously. Wtf

For people asking : the war should be over very soon. After that comes the aftermath, then negociation with the empire (which is actually more reasonable than you'd think. As Souma explained earlier, the whole Amidonia situation was due to them completely overlooking several things) and then back to internal development. A lot of it.

"You can blame everything on me."
Lmao. Yea, why didn't Germany think about that after WW2 to avoid paying reparations. Not how shit has EVER worked, bud. And that's the lighter side of the stupid in this chapter. What kind of idiot would encourage behaviour that literally is about to get him killed, his countrymen and citizens kill, and then push them into a state of vassalage & reparations? Especially when you literally have no moral or logical justification for a vengeful attitude. This writing just keeps getting shoddier.

@Flavor25 I felt my brain cells dying with each word I read. Yes, let's stop and have a bit of thoughtful exposition and reflection IN THE MIDDLE OF BATTLE. Please, for the love of god someone tell this author not to squander this decent plot with shitty and terrible writing.

As soon as they shoved that sister into the conversation and talked about how she wouldn't have a grudge against Elveniden if she was the ruler, I was like damn I guess the son's gonna die too, huh?

Don't worry ...
the excuse doesn't work anyway. Although the capital is returned to the principality, they are made to pay reparations with their broadcast jewel as collateral. The prince was made to accept or be removed from the treaty. It only lasted for a month before the ENTIRE principality became part of the kingdom. Seems the principality invested a little too much on military power than getting someone with a good head on their shoulders.

I agree, though, that introspection doesn't really work during a battle in manga form. It only works in novels.

Tbh, this part is the most exciting part of the series, lots of plot twist here and there

Way to lionize stupid there bub. I mean, I get the argument that he has to show that he would retaliate if his territory is taken but it doesn't make for much of a threat if it looks like you would just lose anyway. Posturing and boasting about your military might only works until it fails, then you look even weaker than you would if you walked away and focused on defending against new threats. In fact, that's the problem with their method really, they focused on being a threat from the past and not a threat to future attackers.

We'll see if the king is vassalized or not. This story seems to avoid allowing decisions to be simple enough to choose the easiest decisions, i. e. killing the enemy king. Keep the present king who's resigned to the superiority of his enemies in power and future retaliation would be at its most limited extent. The prince or the country's nobility would have no point for vengeance. The war is their own political mishap which even the king and prince recognizes.

This is supposed to be a full on battle? It's too one sided, not to mention its mostly just important character fighting a mob

Kinda remind me of dynasty warrior tbh

It's a fully rested troop of 50k prepared professional soldiers in full formation vs 25k exhausted soldiers caught by surprise who have been force-marching for days and needed to scavenge for food in towns that they burnt down before. And 10k of that force are peasants that were conscripted just a few days ago.

Of course it's going to be a roflstomp. TBH, the only reason why the Amidonians are able to even put up this fight is because this is a fantasy world where there are vastly differing power levels between people and the most powerful ones probably survived Juna's ambush.

Wow, the red-haired chump got promoted to a general after one battle. He's no longer the fox girl subordinate. Impressive. It's must be nice to be the king's friend. Poor Shin, he had to start all the way from a simple footman to be a general despite being the king's friend.
