I'm not going to lie, this whole plot about Gard wanting to resurrect his sister feels like an afterthought by the author. Up until now, there was no indication that this was a driving motivation for him. I mean, Gard only joined the magic academy because he was banished from the count's territory he served, and by sheer coincidence, a pamphlet advertising the academy flew into his hands. Where was this sense of urgency or dedication to researching magic before he got kicked out and stumbled into the academy? It just seems out of nowhere.

connections to magic academy... he's a commoner if he got acknowledged by a noble for his efforts said noble could help him get in yes he could have just gone in like he has the issues ends up being due to entering as a commoner rather than on recommendation of a nobility he is taken treated like dirt and people get in his way meaning wasted time on research.

all that to probably show that this teacher that looks similar to his dead sister was actually the reincarnation of his dead sister or some shit like that (this is speculation, I have no clue)
but where do you even go after that, this manga has no objective and the "change the system to not discriminate" arc which seemed like it was going to happen has been put off for some reason

it feels like the mangaka has a wheel he spins for every chapter to decide what he is going to be drawing next

10 bucks the sister comes back as an antagonist in a future chapter and she was resurrected by other antagonists that are more OP than the protag and haven't suffered from magic degradation for some reason.

Yeah in Storytelling 101 motivation is show in the prologue, only FMA skipped as their prologue was very action packed, something here it wasn't. That makes the MC so stupid like he would have reincarnated himself in a position to make his research faster
