I have a simpler solution.
She uses a magic item that casts a mental type of illusion on her.
That illusion causes others to see her as a man.
But a mirror is not a living being and hence is uneffected by the illusion and shows her real appearance.
That is also why she only used it in the room where she had no risk or having a mirror reveal her identity while she wears those completely covering clthes outside where there are glass objects and other reflecting objects like water of puddle, lake or river.
Also the magic item can probably work only for a short time before its energy reserves are used up.
So she cannot use it for too long before she needs to charge it again.

You know what? I think every time a manga character is given a name like this, when translated, we should use the Japanese words instead.
For example: Instead of calling him Grass Weed in translations, we should call him Kusa Zassō.
English speaking people rarely know the meaning of Japanese words, and it can be a nice little easter-egg for those curious enough to look up their meaning.
Just my opinion.

Translating names is silly in the first place, the chance of you getting "the meaning of the name" right isn't terrible, but you'll prb just get it partially right.
Names are not translated normally in "the real world". A name is a name, it's not a word, it's a name, you do not translate names. You might give certin things new names better fitting your culture, but you do not simply translate names.
Anyway, personally I think a name should not have a meaning other than reffering to an individual as the person is, not with any added ideas of how that person might act, like evilmcpeterson or something, though I suspect many would disagree.
