Is he waiting to kill prince 1, 2, and 3 for some reason? Why not just get rid of them all now? He can’t kill everyone in their factions or the kingdom would probably collapse in a power vacuum.

He just needs to make sure that there are lots of witnesses so that the 4th prince doesn’t get blamed. Nobody would associate a kid who’s been bed ridden with monster, so let the monsters put on a show. If it is done in a sneaky way instead, like with poison, it would be hard to deny involvement.

If he kills various princes without plans for how things will unfold after, who knows what the king will do and he might destabilize the centralization of power in the country and make it hard for his puppet the fourth prince to take over. It would be better to have a plan for the fourth prince to consolidate power quickly before taking action. I guess he will come up with a plan after he talks to Camilla. That's what I'm thinking.
