It's kind of how it's always been, isn't it? The happiness of today brought about by the suffering of those before, and even if the descendants know of the sins of the ancestors, can you expect them to throw away the prosperity they have now?

Granted, it's usually longer than mere 30 years to reach that point.

This has taken an odd turn that I'm not really loving. The stakes don't actually feel higher than when the demon king was in charge of Zobul, if anything they feel a lot lower as there isn't really a centralized threat anymore. There's still nothing stopping Rin and Hayato from eventually showing up from whatever plot device they've been busy with and blasting all the remaining demons to pieces including all the humans that took in demon cells. Even if it took killing 90% of the humans on earth it wouldn't be that big of a deal to Rin.

How long will this "peace" last, though? Eventually the world will be stratified between demon-hybrids who are inherently more powerful with their abilities, pure humans who simply are not able to match up to that power, and the human-hybrids who will be given power to police them.

It'll be like Zoble kingdom, but spread to the entire world. That's not real peace.

Rin has virtually no desire to do anything other than protect the demon gate. It took a lot to get her to even join in the attack against the Zobul empire, and the current situation has nothing in it that would get her to move. Hayato only cares about training for the sake of training, and in Chapter 67 was seen with a completely uncaring attitude about the current situation.

Gil is the kingmaker here. She's the one character that is outside of any of Miku's calculations, and she probably has 27 years of extreme training under her belt now. She was already around as strong as Hayato before the time skip. I wouldn't be surprised if she's somewhere near Rin's level of strength now, or possibly even stronger. I'm curious to see what happens here, because if she goes berserk I don't think anyone can stop her.

So what happened to those boys they kidnapped to create that army of babies with? And I forget, what's the purpose of undergoing fusion inside Umeyo again? I really need to re-read everything, its been so long

The reason for fusing in Umeyo is that it has a high success rate. If I recall correctly, it goes from less than 10% with other means to almost 99% if she does it.

I mean, the quick and easy way is to just... destroy it. If only to wipe the smirk off Miku's face :)

It feels like there is some sort of failsafe that would make the going berserk and killing the demon-hybrids work in Miku's favor. She really did 100% win.
