The thing is solved in like 1-3 chapters, but if you want early answer:
To start, Myne's 'main reason' for saving them essentially come down to "I can't read book in peace after seeing THAT and knowing they're there"

So the answer Lutz helped her come up with is essentially to teach them how to survive by themselves by have them run a paper-making/printing workshop:
1. To reduce the food necessary, have them go foraging (that's the main excuse, the real reason is for gathering materials for the workshop)
2. The workshop's earnings will be used to buy supplies for the orphanage, especially for winter preparation that need a lot of fund in a short time.
2.1 In winter where they can't make papers, the workshop will simply do winter handicrafts (started out as one of Myne's whim as usual, basically teaching toys for children)
3. Teach them how to cook so they can ensure some amount of food for the children (at the same time it's also an excuse for her to have a chef she can train for Italian Restaurant)

She also plan to clean up the basement.

Of course she need to talk to Head Priest first, who helps her ensure her ideas can be implemented without causing issues.
For #1, she was going to just make EVERYONE in the orphanage her attendants, so she can officially order them to go foraging (like how Fran and Gil can go outside, but not others)
Head Priest tell her if she do that then other blue priests can't get new attendants and that's a problem, instead she can simply order them on errand in her capacity as the orphanage director.
Lutz, Tuuli, her dad, etc will be in charge of their first few trips and to teach them the rope.

#2 - He is fine with it but he'd like detailed reports about it.

#3 - He said it's natural for her to have exclusive chefs (and other specialists) so bringing in cooks is fine.

And for cleaning the basement, they can order the orphanage to do it under the guise of welcoming the new director.

So she did, and basically start one of the early 'legends' of the Saintess.

Btw, after Myne saved the orphanage, Delia had a...'tsundere' fit? of "why, why couldn't you have come earlier, to save me earlier" and Myne just pat her head and promise the next time she's in trouble, Myne will come save her.

And a lot later on.
Head Priest "wait, the children at your orphanage can read, write, calculate before baptism AND your grey priestesses know your food recipes?"
Myne "DAS RIGHT" *smug* "My people are special, so if any noble want to buy it's not going to be cheap"

@theilikepie - it's a literal feudal/medieval mindset. That's how society worked for thousands of years. We can judge them from our era thanks to the deaths of millions who forced changes in society's values one tragedy at a time. Granted, in the world of this series, the grimdark "might makes right" and "survival of the fittest" is dialed to about 9 compared to most isekai, but it's not completely out of whack with actual human history.
Unfortunately, the reality of magic prevents a revolution of the proletariat, so Myne's got a job ahead of her.

@Mewples : Probably not :v for one even back when I was full NEET and binged read the series it still took ~3 months to finish, so I'll just casually dump spoilers here n there.

The pace of this series can feel really slow at times, but it's a fun read with a good mix of emotion ranges.
Just read this series with the expectation of "what crazy/wacky thing will Myne do next"

Like just dropping dead on the spot suddenly, traumatizing the people nearby like Mark early arc 1, Head Priest/Benno/Fran back in that little discussion in earlier chapter, the list of her 'victims' just keep growing and the people basically just have a "welcome to the club" moment with the newcomer.

It's rare that the anime is far far ahead the manga. Why is it?

Because the manga is merely an adaption of the novel, just like the anime is an adaption of the novel. The same thing happened with Overlord, Youjo Senki, Infinite Dendrogram, Sword Art Online, A Certain Magical Index, ReZero just after S1, and Mahouka just after S1.

The tidbit about the chances for having kids is interesting...
It’s so far off and I feel weird thinking about it, but basically if Myne wants kids in the far far future, her magic power is so great that there’s basically no chance unless she gets with someone who also has at least some magic...
like ferdinand 😨... unless no kids/aromantic lolol

She t she’s also still a kid, so she’s even more limited than what an adult Could do...kind of annoys me that they forget mine is still a kid.

@WhimsiCat I am paying attention and I already know the ending.....
It’s just Myne and her motivation can be rather insufferable
Like you recalling the last arc makes it sound interesting then I remember the actual arc and it’s like.....yuh...
I love everyone else, how they mix and mingle, change and step forward...tho Mc is like the bump in the road , the random LEGO piece you step on

@Mewples : Eh, I enjoy her antics so I don't mind
I guess me reading the ending and find Lutz mentioning how Myne is acting like a maiden in love despite her protest makes me treat her as Unreliable Narrator early on help treating a lot of her antics as "Just Myne Thing"

But you're right that the other characters definitely make the series more alive.

@ThatRandomPerson : A fairly far future spoiler if you care
It's Ferdinand. Though since the series end before she reach adulthood they only get engaged.

Ferdinand's brother did make what's essentially in-universe "you damn pedophile" joke though.

Well now, that's one part of it all the anime didn't disclose.

I like how this translation changed the term "shrine maiden" for "priestess". I think is far more accurate in this world setting. As far as I know, "shrine maiden" or "miko" is just used on Japanese temples.

And yeah, medieval times were shit, but this world is worst. A revolution would likely never happen because magic means everything, and because most research and technology are dependant on magic, and magic can only be used by nobles... Glad we don't have magic here.
