I'm guessing that she just didn't care enough and/or wasn't actually bothered by bullying (she was pretty detached about her own bullying). But after meeting the mc, something clicked (or snapped for her), and now she likely has no quarrel with removing anyone who harms the mc or gets between the two of them.
