I recently catched up with this series and I really don't understand why so many people are upset when the real heroine and clearly superior girl won
The wording of this chapter implied that she initiates the break up. I think the implication is that it's tied into her messy family situation - Yuu was a respite while it was a total mess but now that it's reset she's gonna let him go b/c she still doesn't think she's good enough for him.Maybe she lied one too many times? Not sure what else would have them break up
but she's the best girl tho, I forgot who blondie even isTime's up b*tch give us back our best girl!
Maybe I should work on the novel as well, but I heard someone is already doing it...The chapter of the novel presents some interesting points. Please be aware that the excerpts were translated using MTL.
Here, we see that Yuu lied to his parents about his activities, which strengthens the hypothesis that he was keeping his relationship with Yami a secret from them—though the reason remains a mystery. Additionally, it's interesting that Yuu still regretted failing his entrance exams and that Ayami didn’t consider the implications of his statement.
Here, we see that Yami lies constantly, and Yuu is aware of it. This is an obvious red flag.
Here, we see that Yami is clearly obsessed with Yuu, which raises another red flag.
Apologies for the lengthy post, but it's a shame that the manga is a shortened, butchered version of the novel. To me, it really seems like publishing both the novel and the manga simultaneously was a mistake.
Thanks for the chapter!
It's manga man, it's not all that unusual to have a existential crisis at the age of 8 😶Aren't these motherfuckers in high school?
What are you getting at?Aren't these motherfuckers in high school?
Not even. Or barely. They met when he was trying to get INTO high school. so they're like 9th graders by the American standard.Aren't these motherfuckers in high school?
Good, she can keep that guy 😶we love Yami here
Well technically they're banging each other, not their Moms. But otherwise, yes.Aren't these motherfuckers in high school?
The hints that Yami is a doomed ship are constant. Hikari is probably going to swoop in a save Yuu from the wreckage.
To me it was bad not because of the misdirection but because of the pace and lack of detail in the first arc. If there had been more added to the story of the first arc, I think it would have been better.I wonder if people are mistaking "misdirection" for "bad," considering the start of the manga. I think it's meant to be an arc; we start with the innocent childhood friend HIkari, then twist! He's already in a red flag relationship with Yami. But that's two acts from a three-part arc.
The early sugar with Hikari was a misdirection, not a bad story. The hints that Yami is a doomed ship are constant. Hikari is probably going to swoop in a save Yuu from the wreckage.
Guessing that what Yami is hinting at is a move. Now that parents are divorced, maybe Mom is taking her to her hometown or relocating for work. She hasn't told Yuu that it's coming.
Even if someone else is already translating the novel, there's no reason you shouldn't work on it as well if you’re motivated to do so.Maybe I should work on the novel as well, but I heard someone is already doing it...
And I think that is where the 3rd arc comes in. Yuu's perspective is next and probably the final arc of the story. So I think it's ambiguous in that the most major reason his ship with Yami spiraled was her insecurity & present day she's back in school & her home life is stable & she has friends - like it's very unlikely that present day Ayami would have hit on a random boy to make herself feel better. She also now knows Hikari, so she's no longer comparing herself to a mysterious dream girl who she can never compete w/ & she's heard Hikari talking about Yuu for months, which has hopefully pushed him off the pedestal she had him on. All of which is to say that a second round might be healthier than the first if they've learned from their mistakes.
Granted, Yuu could have also moved on from Aya and decided that he would prefer to be w/ Hikari. Which like I'd love if only b/c it would be Yuu making an active choice for once rather than going w/ the flow.
Right, but I don't want to overstep my boundary lolEven if someone else is already translating the novel, there's no reason you shouldn't work on it as well if you’re motivated to do so.
That's not pacing, that's release scheduleThe first volume took 8 months to put together.
The upcoming volume took 3 months to put together.
That's pretty bad pacing.
Yup, I was incredibly thrown off and upset by the bait-and-switch, but over time, I really started enjoying the progression. Yami is doomed to fail, and it's sad. I will still root for Hikari, but for her to win and Yami to drown is just too sad. I do think Hikari will come and save both of them after some self-reflection over the shock she's been staring at for months now, lol.I wonder if people are mistaking "misdirection" for "bad," considering the start of the manga.
