You’re literally cutting around my points now, it’s obvious since you’re using sections of sentences instead of whole sentences.
Sure, if you feel like the statements that I was addressing did not contain enough context, I edited back the rest of the sentences to the quotes.

At this point I'm not even mad anymore, just confused.

Like, what was the first part of this story even for?

What went down at the festival and why?

Why break up then kiss him again?

And most importantly, what is even the point of this story to begin with?

Like for real what is the end goal for this manga?

Where is this story headed and for what purpose?

At this point the only thing I got is drama. Drama is the goal is manga.

Bit of a rant but imo there is absolute no excuse for that behaviour.

I'm sorry you were hurt by this behavior, I've also been on the receiving end and it's trash. I wasn't trying to excuse it, just explain it - I very much don't think understandable is the same thing as correct.

And also, again not to justify but b/c I think the author wrote this pretty textbook: Aya's really young and Yuu is in her POV the only decent person in her life (and I think she's not open w/ him and he doesn't push her to be) so when she's full on spiraling, there's nobody around to go "hey, you're spiraling, let's talk b/f you do something self-destructive"

The type of people who do this never consider how it will affect the other person, or they simply don't care.
Yeah, I think that's why Aya tells herself this is some noble act of sacrifice to save Yuu from herself. Like she knows it'll hurt him, she just doesn't think she's important enough for it to hurt him that much. Which again, not trying to justify this behavior, I agree that it is almost always selfish and comes from a place of self-preservation.

I didn't mean to imply you were excusing it, just wanted to say that I think the reasoning that's often given for that sort of thing is just a way of shirking responsibility. I agree that it's often understandable, it's just that I frequently see people using the points you raised as justification for it, and that bugs me.

Exactly what I asked lol, I just don't care about any of this due to how they've framed it not even to mention that Yami as a character is so boring lol. Just because she has a sad backstory doesn't make her any less of a dull character to follow.

"Him having a not so ideal first experience so he treats his next gf better"? Tho while it was quite a tangent/change at least it was just a ghosting breakup and it didn't end with like, a suicide or so

Tho it was based on a novel. idk how popular it was (other than 'enough to get an adaptation' but i wonder if there are artists that do a 'setup' and then doing some kinda vote by paying like "Which heroine should win" or so lol)

The novel is being written concurrently. There are some author notes in volume two where he mentions he added more scenes with Yami because the artist liked drawing them being loveydovey

If you reread chapters 19 to 21 you might notice that things are slightly different. Especially if you also read the WN version of chapter 21.
Wait nah you right I do see him being a little uncomfortable even going to the school though I still think its wrong of her to drag him around like that with no elaboration.

girl collecting pity points like infinity stones, she snap the fmc from the manga but sadly for her where in the endgame now.
I really liked the part where it boiled down to her using MC, catching feelings, brutally ghosting him, and then forcibly kissing him despite knowing that her best friend is in love with him. Really shows us her best sides.

So on page 6, in the middle of her insane self-inflicted breakup thoughts, she has the mental energy to diss the guy she's ghosting as not being high-spec anyway. Yeah, my sympathy is gone now. Sometimes the childhood friend deserves to lose.
