Well, actually, i saw it before it got removed and while it was missing pages (it was ch 32.1-32.3 missing 32.4 which isn't even on their site yet) and did not have something telling you to go to their site, just an abrupt end and then the same ending page as on this chapter

If you want to snipe a series, do it to GDS or someone who posts low quality idk man, there's so many abandoned/untranslated series out there, you don't need to try to snipe a series that's been receiving good attention so far

I actually liked the first translation more, specially for chapter 32 wasted time and effort on a worse product that didnt need to be made.

I think the comment section in the Utoon site said it was a commission (tho in that case waste for whoever paid them unless they don’t like Dazai for some reason) but I’m pretty sure the actual account that uploads the Utoon series is some mod or a bot or so

Tho interesting they have JP translators rather than focusing on the Korean webtoons

This. It was definitely mtl (or incompetence). They have a half decent editor who fixed the most obvious mtl grammar stuff, but there were several instances he had no fucking idea what the Japanese is actually saying. I guess the other option is that they somehow have an actual partly competent j2e, but he never sees the actual pages because it's a sweatshop assembly line, so you get no better than mtl. That would cost them more than mtl, though, so probably not?

So basically, from looking at some other of their chapters

• Shitty ad and payment driven for profit scanslation group.
• Using obvious mtl (or equiv).
• In chapter ads out the ass.
• Can't even keep their page ordering or if they've even included a page straight because it's just a sweatshop and they don't give a single crap about the manga other than as a paid product.
• Snipes someone who has been doing this a while.

On the positive side, I've seen worse typesetting. They at least took the effort to pirate Photoshop. So good job there, Utoon? And the chapters are certainly readable, even if wrong.

I get why people would commission them for things that are not being done at all, because It Really Is Better Than Nothing (feel free to use that as slogan) for a series you really want to see translated, but if they care about their shitty rep at all, maybe don't accept snipes even if that would cost you a few grubby won scrabbled off the floor. Maybe they don't care!

so... the only good about them is that they hate paying adobe money. although right now there are a bunch of better software then photoshop, that are free or cheap, and are as capable, and you get less crashes. which would be better to use an alternative, because causing another software to become more popular is going to do more damage to adobe.

Well, I wanted to be fair. They do have some typesetting and editing skills, and they do fill a demonstrable need doing generic stuff that nobody else was bothering to translate. And as long as they stuck to the generic crap, I guess I was kind of okay with it? I just (obviously) get tweaked when they stomp on some one guy actually doing scanslating for the love of the series with their sweatshop assembly line like this.

well, they don't always do it, for example the last couple of chapters of Meccha Shoukan Sareta Ken that they translated didn't have that but for example when they changed the name from manhwafreak to utoon the first chapter they uploaded was very censored, if i am not mistaken it was 6 or 7 pages (it was chapter 39) and of course before they changed the group name there were a lot of it.

edit: at first i just thought that the art was getting worse until the comments mentioned it. after that i have seen many of their translations being censored.

You forget their penchant for eraser tool censorship. They constantly delete cleavage and female abs, or paint over them crudely.
