such an odd place to end the chapter.... i dont understand the pacing of this manga at all. it feels like each chapter is 1/4th of a full one.

Even that glitter dust crook would have escaped if the MC hadn't been there to stop him, yet the locals still want proof from him, despite seeing the ducal family's emblem.
This feels like the usual protagonist centred universe, where the MC has to jump through hoops and having to prove himself to get cooperation from others, but others just get it for free from MC, because that's what MC does.

Basically they can't pull off any operations that depend on believing in and counting on the other party.
So just like a game, then. No one can do anything unless the player does it.

I think the manga-ka is actually playing a couple of sessions of D&D in between chapters and is just retelling his sessions.
So those game sessions are also too short. Unlike Riverna. She's not too short.

I have a feeling their cooperation will be extremely rocky till the end. Basically they can't pull off any operations that depend on believing in and counting on the other party. That's quite cumbersome.
That seems... presumptuous.

Being slightly less incompetent doesn't mean being trustworthy. Wanting proof is pretty reasonable, for all these people know the Brownia lady is the shapeshifter who looted the real one and everyone else could be anyone. Catching one small fry doesn't really give credibility to "we already got the big bad you just brought up".

With reasonable proof there's no reason to think they'd remain distrustful, we'll see.

Of course it's reasonable, but that doesn't change anything about what I said. There's no need for trust and faith if you always have proof and reassurances. That's not how it works. But then again, it doesn't really matter. It's not like Yukito would be trusting those guys either, nor would he really care. He doesn't need them for that long.

Yeah I suppose, but then, there's no reason for two aligned parties who are just meeting to actually have trust and faith in the first place, given they acquire some reassurances it should be fine with just that I think.

But yeah, I mean, he's realistically got assurance of who they are thanks to book, and doesn't need to trust anything beyond that.
