@yerrrrrrrrrrr How about "Elder sister" for "Ane-sama"? To me, it sounds a bit more formal/respectful while still having the same meaning as "Older sister".

Anyway, thank you for the translation!

seriously though. its a perfectly fine storyline with there being some moral ambiguity - the townspeople captured the elves to save the town, its a bad deed but done for good reasons. but why the fuck is she stripped down? what the fuck japan. your obsession with sexual violence as a tool to make characters more sympathetic or appear more heroic is actively worsening your stories by removing any sort of moral consideration on the part of the reader. it doesnt even fucking make sense here cuz the villagers are shown to be sympathetic characters who wanted to help the elves but were forced to do horrible things. so why the fuck is she shown shackled up, stripped down, and in a pretty sorry state, implying rape or abuse or something, when it's just the villagers who are keeping her there. surely they could just lock the cellar doors and let her keep her dignity. i wouldnt be so mad if this was an isolated case but its like every fucking manga these days has to have a rape victim join the party so the hero looks like more of a savior its disgusting.

Sacrificing an innocent to save yourself is an evil act, full fucking stop. Its not made "good" because its saving your own ass. ESPECIALLY not once you've granted them sanctuary already.

As for why the implication of rape...well, they were gonna feed her to a dragon, might as well fuck her first. Once you start down that path, its real easy to say "fuck it!" and keep going.

Besides, as a trope its hardly limited to the japanese. They tend to use it a bit more liberally, and explicitly, but its not like American or European stories are pure as the driven snow in this regard.

I admit that the overuse has severely depleted the impact it has on the reader. But the fact that you're triggered suggests that it does carry some weight still.

The author is exploring the inhere t problem with the D&D alignment system due to moral relativism. Interesting experiment, but a bullshit premise. It stems from a failure to apply logic to moral philosophy.

Ultimately, there can neither be evil nor good if neither has an absolute definition. However, without an absolute for evil or good, then how can spells that target such moral or metaphysical attributes function?

@Raudhbjorn

my triggering isnt to do with the content itself (well ok, its to do with it, but like if this story was in a vacuum i wouldnt be complaining, i didnt the first time i read the same exact thing happen back when it was remotely effective at getting me to engage), it's to do with just how fuckin fed up i am of reading the same old shit again and again

I admit the authors and mangaka seem to be hung up on beating the same dozen or so tropes like the proverbial dead horse. I think it has to do with the kabuki plays and how they always used the same dozen or so tropes all the time. There's a cultural bias towards repition of a trope to imprint it as a cultural meme, and the people who write isekai in specific (and shounen in general) which is ultimately a kid's comic book are the worst of the lot for doing so.

I think part of the problem is that the kind of people who become mangaka or write the novels that become manga tend to be fundamentally unhappy people and the way the Japanese publishing industry treats them only makes them more unhappy. Seriously unhappy people tend to get really warped, emotionally, and when they express themselves through art, that damage comes out.

After all, what makes someone feel more helpless and isolated than rape? Is it any wonder that children who don't fare well in the bully culture of japanese schools and who then go on to work themselves to death, for fucking pennies as artists and writers, produce a lot of art that conveys just how helpless they feel?

Thanks for the chapter!
Looks like Lumilia is the blond elf from the goblin lair raid in the beginning. Hope they manage to save Serena. It's a pity about the villagers but they should've known better than to trust a being that's evil and chaotic and gotten help from the kingdom. Even if they had managed to offer Lumilia as intended they'd either have been conscripted and indoctrinated into the cult or murdered due to having no more use and knowing too much. Hope they're able to save Serena in time although Sana probably isn't in the temple. Is the book showing points that'll help him reach Sana or for some other or additional reason? Still seems odd that the goddess didn't do a reroll for his HP considering she wanted him to do something and getting killed easily would be detrimental, especially with her curse preventing HPs from going up. Wonder if her cult and believers have to be hidden due to her favor making them so easy to kill off. Would be a hoot if the dragon only has a couple hundred HPs because of her curse as well.

If MC's goal is to save his sister, and he knows her location, what the fuck is he doing risking his life left and right, especially when he would die with a single attack? What am I missing here?

Neutral good doesn't mean they will follow the law or common sense if their close one is in danger.

It's practically akin to the dilemma of train problem of a rail with stranger or rail with your loved one. Who would you think you will sacrifice?

Also these guy smh, mc goal is to find his sister. Like what he gonna do? Freakin stay in place without doing anything?

This is like how detectives also works, they finds clues. The freakin clues to them goals won't come to him if they just stay still.
