Is that mean even the most horrible person like a mass killer, dictator, slave trader, he will cure them?

@Narf: While that is true, but it is also needed to save them, because they need to be convicted based on the law, since if not done that way, public opinion and reaction would be harsh once they learn the truth.

Also, this is an international incident with proof of what's being done (unlike the previous TB case with the Queen). So, it would be more easier to take action and even wage war if needed since they have the right cause. So, keeping those people alive is needed as proof of the crime.

@nic99: Its not the Knights which would cause the major issue, its the other one (Manga Chapter 25, page 7).

I am not saying "actively kill them" but don't waste your limited amounts of medicine and personnell on foreign agents who are actively trying to murder your population. They have decent chances to survive anyway, being well-fed adults without any other major issues and strong, healthy bodies. And we've got spares, anyway - chances are at least one of them survives and can be interrogated, plus there are over 20 others still out there who can also be caught and brought in for questioning. So if some of them don't make it - who cares.

Lock em up, keep em fed and hydrated and see who makes it. No need to waste limited resources on them when you might have to deal with a major outbreak soon.

Because of CUring them and wasting time.... The plague arrived at the capital, and if he let them die and rushed, MC could have arrived on time

@Narf: Guess that's true as well, but then again locking those merchants up and letting them die or survive naturally isn't going to solve the issue, because while they did work for the money, they were really ignorant of the whole situation. So, while greed played a part in their actions, but if they had known the truth from the start they would have obviously refused to help. The real culprit in this situation are those Holy Knights (and the Kingdom behind them) who hired those merchants.

@Treyon: MC didn't really waste much time in curing those merchants. What took the most time was the interrogation and analysing the whole situation, since they didn't really know what and where that merchant group were going to.

As far as resources go i would understand not wasting it on them, but ii dont think these guys even know what they were doing, by what i understood they are just peasant merchants nothing more nothing less, and not the well-educated type just grunts doing the work they are told to do.

And they were cooperative with the information so i think they deserve at least to be properly prosecuted and not just killed like dogs, doing justice that way has it appropriated moments the rest is better to do things properly if not things just get uncivilized.

Me crossing fingers:

BORDER CONTROL BORDER CONTROL BORDER CONTROL PLEASE DO YOUR JOB!

Even if they have knights under royalty, they should still be vetted once they are near the main city.

Can't believe these guys are that dumb. Part of your caravan keeps dying off and being left behind you're still going a long not questioning it. Clearly someone is either paying big money for them to go so far or they're just dumb

@JWChibi how would they know without knowledge of medicine? Without education (and sadly some with) some ppl actually believe that the touch of a „holy“ person can cure them 😂

Would they? They knew part of their freight was from an island that was depopulated by plague. They knew they were illegally entering. They would know that an escort of no less than eight elite soldiers is not a normal occurrence for a trader - none of them are so young that this is their first gig. They had to be threatened to spill the beans about how many they are and what they are transporting. They saw both the animals and their crewmates fall sick and/or die, all with the same symptoms.

No, they are currently playing the same "game" the guys who ran Bergen-Belsen, Mauthausen, Buchenwald, Auschwitz and so on did - "I didn't know anything, I was just following orders, blah blah blah".
They know full well what they did, or were at least suspecting it. They still did it.

@beperov
Nah more of the practical sort - sure if he had unlimited power/medicine/personnel, then I am all for it to keep them all alive and follow proper procedures, probably resulting in them being found guilty and hanging them. But in an emergency with very limited time and all the other stuff I just stated? Gotta triage, and these guys are not a priority.

@DragonRider45
Ah so when you catch a bunch of mass-murderers who are sick with the plague they intentionally spread you prioritize the care of them over that of your innocent population? Despite them having a good chance of surviving even without medical care?
