This is "trash," i.e., fantasy harem. There's a fair amount of trash with a development element (development: where a place or organization is being built). That being said, the usual case is for the protagonist to do all the development themselves with their powers, with the harem usually involved in combat. Farming Life in Another World some of the girls are labor and some are associated with trading partners, so it really doesn't fit.
MangaDex does not have a development tag.

If it was the latter I would have probably not been cool with that. Especially after the other guy fired our MC because he was jealous of him getting Ellie's affections all this time. Would just be a jerk move at that point.

That would figure he would try to force her when he already knows she ain’t interested. From what could be seen so far (which isn’t much) Ellie is a good and fun person so when she gets away from the jerk hero that’s a good thing.
Granted this is totally generic and cookie cutter right now and no idea if that changes, but sometimes that can be fun too.
It just broke my heart a tiny bit in the first chapter when she looked so sad as he was leaving. Thankfully I saw her in the color spread at the beginning so I am glad they won’t be separated for forever.

Plot is a bit weak.
The exile was meh, the idiot hero as usual thought the MC skills were average or subpar and never realized he was the reason the team existed, same for MC not grading his ability correctly, when knowing the knew the party would got down without him.
"hero" as most times kicked the MC out of jealousy, a desire to build a harem and lies about the party members being fine with it, MC is in the bad too for blindly believing a bastard that just revealed their true character lies and not his actual friends that never showed any hostility and would have said something that important.
MC istantly unlocked a powerful skill when he got exiled, the requisite was high yes, but come the fucking on.
MC skills summons exactly who he needs a farming skill user, and is a slave, she gets freed, but still behaves like a servant and istantly fall in love and is full of trust.
MC got teleported to a death zone from someone that was friendly towards him, before getting any info or supplies, what a friend.
