Regarding of Alphred of Shadow Garden, in original it was Alphred Kagenoiwano, Kagenoiwano indeed means Shadow Garden. But when members of garden present themselves they use English Warewa Shadow Garden. Since people of this world don't know English words Shadow Garden is a gibberish to them, they don't know what it means. Alphred on the other hand uses Japanese Shadow Garden in his surname.

I think you may have it backwards this time though as they have introduced a new character that does know Japanese, I think Alpha used the Japanese version of Shadow Garden rather than that worlds version of Shadow Garden but they do know what the name of Shadow Garden means.

It's exactly as i said. When members of garden present themselves they use シャドウガーデン which reads as Shadō Gāden.
Alphred uses 陰の庭の which reads as Kagenoiwano that literally translates as Shadow Garden. Elves in TEIS world uses places as they surname, like Sakura of Distant Clear Stream. In the novel elves who were present during Alphred introduction questioning where is that garden of shadows which means they understand what it means.

People of this world don't understand English, because if they did Cid would be uncovered as Shadow in an instant, since Cid Kagenou literally means Lord Shadow
