In the novel the author himself make it clear that Arkite is a small country. That's literaly the reason why Mira is spending all her time looking for her friend. They where the one who let their country flourish despit it's size.
They dont even have a size big enouth to protect themself against any of their neighbor because of this. Also, the two "major" city of Arkite are actualy medium sized compared to big city of other country.

Major country are the three god's country and some country on other continent. There will be a medium sized country at some point in the story where a lot of things will take place, and it show the huge difference with Arkite with how long it take Mira to travel around.

afaik they were one of the top clans in the game pre-shenanigans, the three holy nations were part of the game from the start, and can't be compared to player nations/clans
