I have a question, is this manga using 2nd person perspective or 3rd person perspective?
We're reading it in 2026, but this manga is playing 4-D perspective chess with Mister Spock on the USS Enterprise on stardate 2260.05, with how much it jumps between the main characters and the observers, and with the regular fourth wall breaking.
Jokes aside, most of the events, speech bubbles, and the chat of the observers are shown in 3rd person perspective. Whereas thought bubbles of the main characters are kinda first person perspective, since each internal monologue is just "I ..." or "My ...".
If this was a novel and the internal monologues were just written down, it will be weird to have thought bubbles from different characters being told from 1st person perspective in the same page and even the same paragraph. In such prose, it would become 3rd person perspective: "Nayu-chan thought 'so and so'..." and "Hikoichi-kun thought to himself 'blah-blah'..."
In general, 2nd person perspective is rare. See also
