This really does feel like a scene out of an opera.

I also appreciate how it's tragic, but it isn't pointless. Maybe none of it was avoidable. Maybe his presence was directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of the people he cared about. Those sorts of questions - those are pointless. But despite all that Youth has suffered, he still has a reason to keep going. Even if that reason is to march to his own end.

It's okay to feel hurt, or down, or sad. Confront those things, feel them, don't run from them. But even as you do, remember to keep your head up. Look at what you have around you. Look towards tomorrow. Because tomorrow will always come.

Until it doesn't.

Wait what, bruh. Why when you have possibly really interesting development, everyone just died.
As far as I can tell this draws heavily from themes of Shakespearean tragedy. Part of the reason the storytelling feels "fresh" (at least to me). It's not different, we just don't see it enough any more.
