I was already in the process of switching to mangadex, cus kiss had so many ads, the only thing holding me back was that mangadex has so many incomplete manga manhwa and stuff. alot of my favorites dont have the full comic so i cant enjoy rereading whichever series i want. I just wish i had some forewarning that kiss was going down, i would have updated my bookmark list here if i knew.

It's actually been a while since the last "snipe" happened on a series i keep up with, which is my usual source of drama. I'm also a really big fan of groups that pull entire series off MD because the whining in the aftermath is juicy. roflmaooo So if anyone knows a series like that hook me up plz.

One of the biggest scanlator dramas happened about a year ago, when a bunch of well-known groups had a falling out with MangaDex.
Grab some popcorn and your favorite drink, because reading that thread is very entertaining from a bystander's perspective.

Just block and ignore that poopy fella. It felt like they are just kinda stressed or tired with stuff in addition to that, KM shutting down etc stresses them more.
It's not productive to reply to such obvious baiting/flaming comments. It's just plain irritating imho.

Yeah, I know that they hosted their files on google's servers. I used their site before once or twice, and I did notice image links I checked heading to *.bp.blogspot.com/* or something. I'm just commenting about that law thingy because all of this KM shutting down talk kept bringing that 2021 January law stuff, which I didn't know before, and worried about.
Though, I hope it's only active in Japanese territory only like you said, and the holders/lawyers/whoever they are won't chase overseas people.
Luckily I'm no longer in Japan anymore, so I should be safe...?

I enjoyed the recent one on Boku no Kokoro no Yabai, where some rando started releasing chapters in low quality releases one after another, which was followed by the original translator group releasing chapters at a much faster rate to catch up again.

As a side note, I'd like to give some important advice to any new users here:

Change your profile pic to something other than the default one. Trust me, you'll be remembered far more easily by other users. People will also be less inclined to treat you like an NPC.

claiming 95% of it was from here is silly since this site doesn't even have near all the titles Kiss did and that has little to do with respecting scanlators and everything to do with this site's policies especially on licensed works.

Scanlators upload their work either on here, or Batoto. And then Kissmanga and other similar sites copy them. Some scanlators refuse to upload their work on MD, because they want people to visit their website. MD respects that, so they don't take those manga without permission. KM has no regard for that, so that's why you see some manga that are not here. KM cannot have chapters earlier than MD if scanlators upload their work on here first.

KM cannot have chapters before MD does, unless they copy them from scanlators' website without their permission, which is something MD doesn't do out of respect for them. They've already made it very clear when this website was started. Some scanlators upload chapters on to their website first to gain some traffic, then post on MD. If MD couldn't careless, you'd see those chapters here early, too. Why do you see new versions of a chapter on MD? It's because the translators upload and update their work here. This is where most translators post their work, unless they have their own website. KM simply steals and make profits off of them with insane number of ads. Not all of them are from here, no, but a lot are.

The site has been cancerous for years. If you're still fanboying it, you won't be happy with MD. Hey, cool. There are alternatives out there similar to KM but better. I've been translating manga for long enough to know how these sites work. Which is why many people look down on KM. I haven't insulted you yet, but your attitude was basically begging to be. I simply warned you that for someone who knows so little, you act high and mighty and insulting to others. I don't think I've seen you on the forum before, and within the first few posts, you already introduced yourself as a total dickwad. No one likes that.

Way to go, Mr. KM Knight. Enjoy being on the shit list.

@Sogno Not scanlators' drama, but MD already have their fair share of heated arguments. You're probably gonna see something similar again sooner or later.

Alright newbies, heed my words. There's a user by the name of [REDACTED] on this site, and he likes to ask questions. What kinds of questions, you may ask? Well, mostly innocent questions. At least, at first.

You see, [REDACTED] likes to bully people off the site in his free time. And his M.O. is, you guessed it: questions. His questions start off simply, with phrases such as "does anyone know the source for this" or "is this anime/manga worth watching/reading?". But if you consistently answer his questions, you'll discover that they gradually become far more sinister in nature.

It happened a while ago to a good friend of mine. On a dark, stormy night. My friend, let's call him Baguette-chan, was shitposting as usual, when [REDACTED] began to ask him questions. At first, the inquiries sent consisted only of innocuous topics such as 'favorite ways to eat a banana' or 'tell me your zip code', but they eventually took a turn for the worse, ranging from "Why haven't you [REDACTED] yet?" to "Do you want to see my favorite crossdressing manga?"

Baguette-chan couldn't take it any longer, and, long story short, he left the site, possibly for good. I hope this cautionary tale spreads some awareness to you newbs. Whatever you do, never answer a question on this site.
