Fafnir laughing was weird. Uncomfortably weird. Shin getting a hug and breaking down was heartwarming though. Just another chapter (or three?) to go before we're finally done with this tournament arc.

HUH. I'm usually more perceptive with things like this.
In my, and probably other people's defense:

• I have stopped judging characters for looking similar and/or having black hair in anime/manga because of same-face syndrome.
• That Obayashi king having a similar name, if not actually related to Kobayashi, threw me off.
• Unsurprisingly, a lot of us are bad with remembering Japanese names. If their character designs aren't that distinct, then people are even less likely to remember them.
• His younger age back then. I automatically assumed it's some random shota.
• Where there any hints before these chapters? For example, him not freaking out after seeing Tohru's dragon form for the first time? I assumed he didn't panic because he was a gamer and "familiar" with fantasy stuff.

And goddamn, everywhere you go there's Norse Mythology, and frankly I'm getting a little tired of it.

Norse mythology can be a good setting, just not for Isekai or reverse isekai. Something like Mesopotamian mythology or a Christian supposal; as CS Lewis called the idea; would have been better IMO.

And to be fair Takiya being that same issekayed kid / hero is disappointing. I liked him for being human that can "beat" dragon like Kobayashi basically making him more special in his own way
