If seeing him with another girl is devestating her this much, She would've reacted really badly if he suicided after the rejection.

Instant life long trauma. im still confused with her reasoning behind the rejection, from just a child hood friend to obsession of his every movement.

Huh...well I wonder how she would have felt if she discovered that he killed himself after she rejected him (in the hypothetical situation where he was successful with his suicide).

So the writing is all over the place and the characters whiplash between severe emotional states. Hear me out here- I think the author is intentionally playing it up for comedy. Take the scene just now where Haruna is sobbing in the rain at her own dumb mistake; what if it is not dramatic, but melodramatic? We get a hint when it cuts to a dumb panty joke, and that her sobbing is mostly based on misunderstanding. What if there was over-the-top soap opera background music or other comedic elements during the sobbing scene?

TLDR: It's not a terrible drama, it's a subtle comedy.

Regardless if it's supposed to be a comedy or not using suicide and survivor's guilt as a central point makes the "comedy" part be in bad faith and very very terribly used.

Right now it's still on the "accidental comedy" line so I don't absolutely abhor this series.

Wholeheartedly agree that it was unfunny and distasteful. Likely this is why I didn't start thinking the author was trying to be melodramatic until a few chapters later. I'm hoping he doesn't try that joke again.

This chapter was... Really bad. I hope the author comes up with a very good reason to why she rejected him the way she did if she loved him

I’m happy that she’s a little self aware, but like what the fuck did you think was gonna happen the moment she finds out she finds out what she truly did. She’s probably gonna be the one rushing to the cliff
We can only hope.

That childhood flashback has some major manipulative yandere vibes to it. It's like Haruno wanted to monopolize him even when they were still young and he just lost his parents.

Wow, she actually blamed the real reason for Riku escaping from her grasp. Dunno about Ayana's stalker, but Haruno is literally stalking the two of them now. If her stalker problem before was dubious and perhaps imaginary, now it's real. And yeah, this chapter is going in the direction of "serves you right" type of soft revenge. This also kills the theory Haruno is in love with Ayana. She rejected him simply because she made a dumb mistake and didn't want to think it over...?

She has to live with the consequences of her choices. I'd be angry if she manages to steal him back or something, because in that case Haruno played stupid games and somehow managed to actually win a prize.
